I don't usually listen to these so I'm glad you pointed this out. It seems like he was going to say "this Otega Oweh situation" or something similar before he realized it wasn't something he should comment on or the public knew. Very interesting.Really interesting point towards the end of this interview with about 4 minutes to go. It's a question about the boos going into the half and the team responding to adversity. At one point Pope goes "this Otega Oweh..." then just kind of pauses then says "anyway" then completely changes directions and moves on. Would love to know where he was going with that!
Yes, exactly! I don't know if he was going to go into his heart and how he's turned his effort around. Or was it about something behind the scenes. Or something entirely different. It's very interesting because he knew he shouldn't go into it more and changed direction.I don't usually listen to these so I'm glad you pointed this out. Is Pope getting to business now? Does it seem like he’s a little more tuned in or is that just me?
The one downside of finally getting a game like this is we don't even get a cupcake to occupy us on Tuesday. Have to wait an entire week to see if we're making strides or just managed to get one. I had to do some thinsgs around the house at halftime and was all in my head about how we looked, watched the 2nd half when the replay was posted and that 2nd half looked how UK should look.Maybe. Maybe he realizes he's had a breakthrough. We will have to wait and see.
Gonna be a long week to see if we can build on this.
IU was the cupcake that was supposed to get them ready for St Johns. The one downside of finally getting a game like this is we don't even get a cupcake to occupy us on Tuesday. The 2nd half of the Indiana game shows that we can steal a few games with defense and intensity when the shots are off. I am just pissed that Pope did not deal with the lazy play from day one. Why did he let the stuff go on for 10 games until the benching of Garrison which seemed to at least temporarily motivate the team to hustle against Indiana. It almost seems like he should let someone else do the post game interview along with finalizing the NIL deals.
