I hate that the Final 4 is in Indy next year. UK simply cannot find a way to win there. There’s some sort of curse going on. Look at the results since the Wisconsin debacle
In 2015. Shame.

Indy is a great place, we haven’t played well recently. It the venue wasn’t the problem for 2015 for sure. I like that we can dominate the crowd there and I definitely wanna make it there for the final 4! Go Cats baby!

I think Indy is the worst venue for these type of games. But the location didn't beat us in any of the losses.

I don't like the dome venue but some of my most memorable in person games were in Indy. The E8 win over Michigan and a beat down of KU during Perry Ellis' 8th season come to mind.

They're never going to pass up the extra ticket money but it's a shame they don't just have the games in the Pacers' arena (Gainbridge? and yeah I had to look it up and laugh knowing I'd be at least two corporate names behind...)

Funny thing is, downtown Indy has one of the best basketball venues in the world in Gainbridge Fieldhouse. But the greedy NCAA chooses not to use it simply because they can squeeze more dollars out us us playing in a friggin football stadium.

They need to get the damn ball figured out. That thing was bouncing off the rims like a super ball.

All that means to me is that we’re due for some good fortune there.

But I’m referring to Indy as a whole for these big events. There’s just not enough hotels and restaurants downtown.

If you don’t mind driving it’s fine.

But we prefer to not drive.

We did go to the game against Duke in Bankers when beat them and it was great for that.

But when they have the FF there the restaurants downtown are packed and lines to get in.

Nah.. This year UK weren’t winning the natty anyway. Next year may be the year, who knows. But a ( curse ) lol… just wasn’t in their cards, that’s all..

Dude it's the Hoosier curse that drifts down to us from the weather patterns. All that Hoosier corn 🌽 or something

Wasn't about winning a title this year ... UK got housed by a team they beat twice this season ... in Indy. A completely sluggish, unenthusiastic, uninspired effort from wire to wire, starting with Brea's missed lay-up and Williams' airball from 8 feet to start the game for UK.

Cursed.

But that was 2014, the OP’s post said “since 2015.”

And indeed the bad luck there seemed to begin with that 2015 Wisconsin final four game. We did fine in Indy before that.
Good point. Plus when domes are harder for pure shooters and we’re probably going to more pure shooting teams going forward than anything we’ve had since 1990, there’s a whole lot of room for Indy to be a bad place for us without any kind of curse involved.

The venue was booked. The NCAA is greedy, but it wasn’t their call.

Final Four is there next year.

Love to get another chance.

Hopefully, we are good enough to get closer games.

I don't like this defeatist attitude our fans and media are inventing. Much like refs and selection committee or to get us, some people want things to worry about. Indianapolis is going to be a venue in NCAA tournaments for years to come. Let's not make it a thing. These streaks come and go.

The S16 UL team and E8 Michigan say hello.
That was 2014. Indy has been cursed for us since 2015. I mean we got Rooferee'd in Indy.

I wish the FF wasn't there next year. I want no part of that town.

Hate playing on a football field
This. The venue just.....sucks. Football stadiums were built, oddly enough, to be football fields. They can double decently well to be concert venues and baseball stadiums, but converting it down to a basketball stadium is just.....gross.

Not to mention, losing to Arizona in 97 was one of the toughest loses I’ve ever dealt with.
