Dear lord. ESPN has got to figure out the contract deets with the Inside the NBA crew. I can’t with SAS, Perk, Malika and this other tool. Good lord they are SO bad comparatively. I honestly think think three random NBA fans could do what these ESPN crews do. So rough.
As long as they stay woke ESPN will be happy

Kenny is such a scared little company man. Ernie sarcastically played devil's advocate in that segment for ESPN with his "is there some credit", but Kenny's squirmy little "I get what you're saying BUT..." was nauseating to watch.

They're already filthy rich, and both are old(ish) now (Ernie is 68 years old and Kenny is 60) and my thoughts are that Chuck doesn't give a damn anymore. I could see Ernie leaving the show. Kenny might be the only one remaining, which would be fitting because he's more than ready to be a good little bobble head for ESPN.

Good for Chuck to call out the clown show that is the woke NBA Today trash heap. It helps when you've got a net worth of over $70 million.

The problem is, Shaq is gone no matter what. Hes gonna be a GM type role for Sacramento St. And Chuck seems very ready to move on. Really sucks though. That chemistry is just perfect. If I wete them id try and keep Ernie, Kenny, and Chuck.. and then rotate guys in and out until they find one that fits.
I don't think Shaq has any plans to leave. The Sacramento St thing is a voluntary, part-time thing while his son is there.

I won’t watch those racists spew their ignorance. Haven’t watched in nearly a decade

Yeah, what you're seeing now is a lot of big time names getting into GM-like roles, almost as figure heads. Shaq will be a little different as his son plays there, so he will probably be a little more involved, but it's definitely a part-time thing.

I like watching Steven A, Malika, Perk and all of them really. It's just TV. You're not going to agree with everything from any of them. I like watching Chuck, Shaq, Ernie and even Kenny too. I don't like Kenny much because he's an UNC guy. But he knows basketball. He wants to coach.

I love watching PTI too. I wasn't a huge fan of Around the Horn but i wish they hadn't cancelled it. It's entertainment. Nothing more. I don't care who they vote for. I'm not going to them for political opinions.

I love Shaq. He's one of my favorite humans ever. But, he just doesn't have the voice to be on TV. Speak up, old man!

The ESPN NBA folks are just bad. You'd think, with as hard say that network pushes the NBA, they'd have some gems.

Isn’t Steph Curry doing it too? I don’t think he’s quitting the NBA for it. Like someone else said, it’s just a name recognition marketing ploy.

Mine has zero to do with political and everything to do with entertainment value. That ESPN show is just unwatchable to me. Before I got married back when I started teaching and coaching, my fall and spring routine (coached bball in the winter) consisted of coming home and watching Lebatards show, Around the Horn and PTI. Never missed a day. I loved them all. Lebatard, Papi, and Bomani were the best.

No I think Steph Curry just does side gigs for Ayeshas ****** cooking show. Lakercat has signed copies of all of her books too.

Perk is hot garbage and btw the way this man says the word "series" would make someone think that's a 3 syllable word. Doris Burke wasn't even hiding her fandom/hate in the Wolves/Thunder game last night.

I'm talking analyst's. Dudes on there analyzing women's hoops?
Basketball is basketball, why does everyone get so worked up about if there are women analysts? Do you think men's basketball is somehow different enough where a woman couldn't break it down? The Spurs had Hammond as an assistant for a long time. The Pacers currently have a women assistant. Haliburton called Sue Bird for advice on how to improve his game before the postseason.

It literally does not matter whether or not an analyst is a man or a woman. Why do you guys get so scared of seeing a woman on a sports show?

Idc about that. What I do find interesting is it's only one way evidently. So men can't commentate on the women's basketball? I guess the argument is no man with self respect would want to be an analyst for wnba or college women's hoops. I can buy that but was curious.

I dont watch any of these shows anyways. Espn is a woke, racist network. They freaked out over made up stuff from their Angel just this week and then when the wnba announced it was made up, they didn't discuss it or offer apologies for their dumb rants that had no merit.

The faux outrage and made up drama is beyond control at that network.

Now the TNT crew I enjoy watching. They are awesome.

I really have nothing constructive to add other than Perk is garbage. I’ve never disliked listening to someone so much. I’d rather listen to SAS because he’s just a human caricature. Perk seems to think he’s really bringing something and he just doesn’t. Didn’t like him as a player for the same reason. I’m just biased. Nevermind.

Unless he has zero help, Shack and anyone else should be able to handle that on a part time basis. I had never even heard of that team before this morning and that job is a 30,000 foot control job, not tightening nuts and bolts.

Shack can handle this part time.

Lol... you really have no idea huh... "GM type role for Sacramento St."

That's essentially a role of nothing.

Only to disingenuous observers who think that putting "say her name" on the back of NBA jerseys while ignoring human right's violations in China is an ethically coherent position to take.

Tell me again how that works.

Yes, the fake caring and deflecting to China. Those were good times.

Do you actually live in a world where you hop online to call strangers chauvinists in the middle of the night?

It's still before my bed time here. I guess I do live in that world though since it's the same place where adult men refer to sports pre and post game shows (that they allegedly don't watch for leagues they allegedly don't care about) as "woke". Crazy world.

I've met other people in the real world who are equally annoyed at the mention of the word woke. Let me be more deliberate: to me it means people who think that talking or writing about a particular inequality or injustice is the same thing as actually doing something about it.

We presently have a surplus of those types of intellectual superheroes.

Maybe you actually do things in your world to combat injustice; however, for most of my acquaintances who mock the word woke, I find that they typically are so far removed from lifting an actual finger to change anything in our world. On that note, I can fully understand their scorn for anyone who dares to shine a light on the utter rubbish found within their disconnected moralizing.

If there was any deflecting at all, it was from the American quasi-compassion culture that emerged just long enough to pretend to care about urban plight. Like Pennywise the Clown, they come out of their lair about every 27 to dust themselves off, reread some Herbert Marcuse bullet points, and pretend to be compassionate Marxists.

The "say her name" campaign was hideously fraudulent to its bones. It's no wonder that Adam Silver and his degenerate friends hopped on the wagon to make a buck off of it.

That's fine and all. But the term woke in this context actually means people who have an aware whether that's politically or of social injustices or inequalities. That's it.

But even with your own incorrect self interpretation of the term, what does that have to do with the ESPN NBA coverage? I mean even if the analysts spent time on the air proselytizing social injustices, wouldn't that be "actually doing something about it" as they do have a media platform that reaches millions? Or would you prefer they become vigilantes like Batman?

Or.... now hear me out.... or people were actually impacted emotionally about a murder that happened to someone in their own country from communities that resemble their own. But hey they should also care about China... am I right?
