is headed out of state to play CFB. The Rivals Top 100 players in the nation has a total of 16 players from the state of Texas.
The 'commit' breakdown is as follows...

OU - 3
LSU - 3
Bama - 2
A&M - 1
Texas - 1
USC - 1

Undecided - 5. Of the undecideds, the 'forecast' breakdown as follows...
OU - 2
A&M - 1
Texas - 1
Bama - 1

If things fall the way they are forecasted, 12 of the 16 Top 100 players will be leaving Texas to play college ball. With OU, Bama & LSU getting the most. Of course there are still alot of talent below this Top 100 but it is interesting to see the cream of the crop leaving Texas.

Good breakdown Nasty. Says a lot about the state of tu football. The whorns are in a downward spiral and the premium high school talent in Texas knows it.

And to think, whorns got all that money at their disposal. Send em to conference USA, they might win a game or two there. 😁

The worst thing that could happen to Texas did when A&M joined the SEC. The camel's nose is not just under the tent, the entire caravan is grazing.

At one time I too believed that w/ Aggie moving to the SEC that it would open the flood gates of others moving into Texas to gain talented players. But it appears that tOSU & Bama are the only two that have a steady footprint for the top 100 talent. It makes me wonder if they always did but we just didn't think much about it because of their past success. One thing I do agree with you on is that Texas has suffered greatly. Here's a look at where last year's Top 100 in Texas signed with. A&M had a good haul. I know this board doesn't give them alot of credit, but they have quietly put together a good team.

A&M 6
TCU 2
Bama 2
tOSU 1
Stanford 1
LSU 1

There is going to be some serious realignment when the current TV contract(s) expire. I think we;ll see a major shake up. If Texas can get a deal like ND had at one time, they may very well go solo. At this point they have nothing to lose and all to gain.

Yeah, I don't see whorn getting an exclusive deal with a network like Irish got with NBC. In fact, that kind of Irish deal will never ever happen again ever. Bama would've made a similar move by now if possible. This is why the Irish football program joined the ACC. Whorns are stuck with their network if that's the route they want to go,

I think you're correct in that nobody will get a network deal like the Irish got. But streaming channels or cable might be doable. I think if they did and then scheduled some tough teams across the nation for a couple of years, eventually their recruiting would take a huge jump. At this point they have nothing to lose and all to gain.
