That’s why you substitute and call time outs. Not 100% satisfied with this statement.
I agree and we waited way to long to call a timeout and get our composure back. They have a good team and were ready to play.

The environment was hostile and we wilted. I can accept them just being better that night but I thought the whole reason we brought in older experienced guys was to avoid a meltdown like that.

Some of our seasoned players acted like freshmen.

He said the staff grades body language and 3 guys played underwater in the game. Said it's not effort but had more to do with focus and the game plan wasn't followed.
I bet one was Pope. When Louisville was going on that first run to jump out to the first double digit lead, Pope was standing in front of the scorers table and looked not only defeated but lost. Now for all you sensitive fans, bash away at this comment...

I agree. Know exactly what you’re talking about. Standing with head cocked sideways with a visible frown and chewing his lip.

That just isn't true.
No, it is true. He had this problem last year. You don't remember the game where footage was taken in the lockeroom beforehand, and they proceeded to lose, and he talked afterwards about how the poor game prep was on him?

You spent all your time talking **** about Cal and now you turned your ire on Pope. Gtfo
You are way, way too disingenuous. How about you see yourself out? If you think I don't like Pope, then you're choosing to be blind.

I'm not bashed, but you take one moment in time and determine it's true that's on you

My concern is it took them till watching tape to recognize this. Bad body language is recognizable in game pretty quickly.

I actually thought this thread was about his cryptic hinting at an emotional situation pregame that was out of their character.

Nothing about this game is sitting well with me. Im sure glad its extremely early.

Yeah you are absolutely right I remember it was the auburn game in rupp last year & his pregame speech was so pitiful and soft! Bruce Pearls guys would run through a wall after his pre - game speech in the locker room and they did! That’s why they put BTA to *** last year in Rupp. Pope is soft and that’s the truth.

Get real. Like they are going to call that out in the game. Guys, look at Oweh. Now see how he is hanging his head. Now don't you guys do that..... Yeah, we're gonna hear that in a time out.

I suspect those moments were more like "STAY THE *F* IN FRONT OF YOUR MAN ON DEFENSE. SOMEBODY GET OUT ON HIM IN THE CORVER LIKE *F*ing NOW". Of course, Pope is a nice guy. I'm sure he said please.

People forget Pope broke furniture last year in the Ole Miss locker room. He’s just as pissed as us about the effort and he won’t say “gee aw shucks. It’s fine, guys”. Pope will fix it.

Seems most coaches shy away from holding players accountable these days.
When applied correctly, the bench can be a great motivator.......
No doubt. Love to see Chandler and Moreno get the start and sub in BG and OO against E Illinois. Back in the day it would have motivated them to get their **** together. Now it would probably end up as drama on TikTok.

This is why .the majority of fans were pissed when Pope was hired. Unfortunately, he was a middle of the road hire and overall coach.
