This was from my weekly Alamo Bowl update email...

"TCU’s defensive game-plan could dictate how well OU moves the ball downfield, as Mayfield was 8-for-11 for 124 yards and two touchdowns when facing five or more pass rushers last week. Mayfield now has 11 touchdowns and no interceptions against the blitz this season. The pressure will certainly be on in Norman this week."

I knew he was good against the blitz, but that is amazing. Heisman amazing.

And if they don't blitz, Perine will break their will running the ball. It's a double-edged sword for the defense that Riley can and has shown the ability to use.

That's how I felt going into the 2004 MNC game. Jason White, Adrian Peterson, Mark Bradley, Mark Clayton, Will Peoples, Travis Wilson, Antonio Perkins...
Vince Carter, Jammal Brown, Davin Joseph, Chris Chester, Wes Sims

Sounds like an All-Star team when you go back and look at it.

It was. Of course the other team had an All-Star team on its side as well.

Bowl games are different. They just are. Bowl games, especially those BCS games, gave everyone a month off. That's a month off to prepare for a team that runs a high powered offense that you probably couldn't have stopped if it were in the regular season and you had just one week to prepare for (I know, I ended my sentence with a preposition).

OU would have mud-stomped USC if we played the week after the Big Twelve Championship. I have absolutely no doubt.
