With as much money as Texas makes, why not just pay the $600,000 to make this go away. No sense in dragging this out and getting bad publicity over that little amount. They make like $100 million a year. I'm sure they won't miss $600,000...

Should be pretty easy to show that the Texas job was a promotion over the job Wickline had at Oklahoma State:

Wickline's attorney: "Mr. Wickline, do you make significantly more money at Texas than you did at Oklahoma State?"

Wickline: "Yes - I make (insert actual number here, e.g. $50,000) more per year at Texas."

Judge: "Case dismissed. I rule in favor of the defendant".


The stuff about "additional play calling duties" is a red-herring. If the man received a significant raise, he got a promotion.
