Interior passing, noticeably missing last few games

Earlier in the year this was one of our strengths and now has disappeared almost entirely. Yesterday's game featured only a single notable interior pass, from Lyles to Towns. One reason for this is that without Alex we are missing possibly our best receiver of interior passes. He and Lyles have very different games. Lyles tends to float on the parameter while Alex would camp on the baseline.

I would really like to see the team spend some time on this area so we can get back to punishing teams in the paint.

Well Lyles is playing the 3 a lot of the time so I'm not surprised he is on the perimeter so much.

I'd like to see Lyles get in the middle of that stupid 2-3 zone around the FT line at the top of the key...so then he could either 1. pass it down low to the bigs 2. kick back out to a shooter for a 3 or to run more of the offense 3. Shoot the mid-range jumper he loves.

I think that would help our interior passing and our zone offense overall.

I agree with Wildcats8. Need to put Lyles around the ft line of the zone. The 2012 team ran that a lot with Miller in the middle. I think it would help for our guards to drive the ball more. They haven't been finishing great recently, but 3 of our guards have good size and strength, the 4th is quick and can find someone to dish to.

Lyle's spending more time on the perimeter is actually helping our offense. Better spacing for everybody.

Towns attempted a good amount of interior passes last game. They were either thrown too hard or mishandled by our bigs. Big reason why he finished with 5 TOs.

It would also help if our big men could hit some easy shots when they put them up down low.

KAT and Lee combined for a beautiful play in the 2nd half (I believe it was).

KAT received the ball on the left block. When the double-team arrived, he instantly wheeled out of it and threw the ball diagonally cross-court. While the ball was in the air, Lee stepped out and screened the elbow defender resulting in a wide open three ball from DB. Splash!

I'd like to see that play repeated 5 or 6 times every game until the other teams figure out how to stop it.
