Ironically this may be a more winnable game than any of Nebraska/Michigan/Minnesota.
Iowa's defense is stout but their offense is as mediocre as ours.
If Marty can give us 2 or 3 TD drives while not giving up the ball, we can win.
I was very pessimistic going into the Minnesota game, but I am far less so against Iowa.

We have the worst rush defense in the B1G, and it's not even close:

Yeah, but what if Ioa is nicked up at RB and has to play their 4th and 5th string...never mind
Purdue and Wisconsin offenses are mediocre, Iowa's offense is disgustingly unwatchable. There's not a single big time playmaker on this team.

Yeah, don't get me wrong, Iowa should win this game just because they have 1 unit (that defense) that's much better than any of the other 3 (offenses/our defense).
But... there's always a scenario where we win the turnover margin and have a chance if time of possession is near even.
An ugly 14-10 punt-fest is always possible in a matchup like this between two inept offenses.
And I think our offense may look a bit more capable than it's looked the rest of the season if our dual threat QB, Andrew Marty, is healthy and able to play. Gives us a shot at extending drives and maybe not taking a ton of sacks or a lot of quick 3 and outs.
This game could honestly go either way, especially if you believe game psychology is a thing.
We beat Iowa regularly, including when we're not "supposed" to. No need for belief without evidence here.
Conversely, we could be the confidence booster that Iowa needs, like we were for Scott Frost.

Scott Frost...sigh. Nebraska has one P5 win, a blowout against us. They beat us worse than they beat Fordham. I think they will lose the rest of their games.
Nebraska isn’t terrible, they’re just…Nebraska. I think all their losses are by 1 TD or less.
best 6 loss team in the country, so they say!. I betcha Saturday isn't a one score loss...nor Wisconsin. Ioa will be tighter but they will find a way to lose.
if you guys are going to beat us at least arrange for a high scoring game. beat us 45-38 or some such letting petras throw for 5 TDs. such a loss would stupefy iowa fans and they wouldn’t know how to recalibrate their bitching and it would make our board a lot more entertaining. thank you.
