You all know, I'm fine with the players speaking out....but the people in charge of marketing it are just plain morons or want to incite division.

So most of this anger is coming from posts on KSR...coming from Facebook. Most Kentucky fans are white, in a very conservative state...so a video going out on social media of those players saying that is going to draw out the worst people and comments. People that probably already hate Cal, OAD, etc. They have the option of TURNING OFF THE COMMENTS....and they know what kind of responses they will get....but leave them up anyways.

It's like..."Here white Trump supporters who don't like this stuff to begin with....this video has UK players supporting something that we know is gonna draw a bad reaction. What's your opinion?" It's almost like KSR wants to see that reaction. Because it's either stupidity or they like the traffic/attention so they can talk down to people in the state. But they'll claim "We truly just wanted to hear your honest opinion on things! We didn't know that would happen!"

The basketball social media team should've been more like the football team...but also turned off the comments/replies. Those players get trashed talked even when it isn't political or race related...social media give the anonymous a platform to bully without consequence...and putting 18-19 year-olds out there to be treated like that isn't the best. They could've turned off comments & replies...that I believe was just ignorance.

I quit listening to and reading KSR several months ago along with twitter. Best move I ever made. When I go to a sports site, I go for sports. I don't watch C-Span for the weather.

Been awhile since we got a good blame KSR post.
I'm a big fan of Matt, Drew, Tyler, Nick, & the rest...but

It's blame them for not shutting down the comment section on facebook. Then on twitter, they are the national represenatives for our fan base, they continue to engage and give a stage to the worst of our fan base.

Matt has done a lot of damage to his "basketball brand" by mixing politics and sports. I fully support his right to do so. But entertainers, athletes, movies stars, musicians, etc, have to understand when you do this, you tick off 50% of your fan base.

No I really get what you’re saying, I wasn’t trying to be a jerk. Everything’s just a mess. You’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t

His ratings have not suffered at all.

I’m sure you know more about it than I do because ratings are not my thing. Sophomoric immaturity is not tolerated by a lot of people.
#1 in Lexington and Louisville men 25-50 and # 1 in Lexington in all demos. I know it’s cool to say you hate it and stopped listening but the fact is it’s more popular than ever. Fact

Cals little white privilege rant to a state full of poor suffering white people who have had to work like slaves to survive the last 150 years did it for me. Wrong crowd to preach white privilege to. May work in Pennsylvania but not the coal miner families of Kentucky or the tobacco farmers or the poor broke down trailer Parkers. Kentucky has privileged people at the top at the expense of whites. He should learn about the history of our state. This guy is a fraud

Slavery was instituted by rich folks.

Made the poor folks fight a war over it

Then the folks that instituted it and owned slaves stayed rich. The poor folks all suffered. The poor folks not involved get told by the defendants of wealthy slave owners/profiteers how it’s poor southerners fault.

It then turns the poor and middle class against each other.

Just as you said, it's the marketing department.. business school's "I don't know what I'm doing!" major.

And as far as "Social Media Managers" (Something I could do in my spare time, half drunk), even worse. They are next to useless, and often in the "woke" category.

Not surprised they are of no help.

I listen to KSR via podcast semi-regularly as I find the show to be entertaining.

What I find to be hypocritical is Matt's comments on Twitter. He talks about why do we have to agree or disagree and base that on why we like or don't like people...but then complete annihilates and attempts to embarrass people who he doesn't agree with via the Twitter platform.

Social media is a cess pool. I haven't had a FB account since probably 2005. Twitter, just used it to pick up recruiting news...now I just get the alerts and it needs to go.

Maybe that's what he is, finds himself better than you cause he was smart enough and hard working enough to get to where he is, so he "knows" better than you since you weren't.

He knows little wrt this and ain't that smart.

As for me, no one that supports these demonstrable and divisive lies gets my support in any $hape or form. My support will return when you stop spreading hate and lies, wilfully or ignorantly it doesn't really matter to me; you are making a mistake and hopefully in time, for your own sake, you will come to that realisation.

Matt has done a lot of damage to his "basketball brand" by mixing politics and sports.

Not really...he is rather shallow and uninformed when it comes to sports, other than what is spoon fed to him for his show, and his liberal ignorance will go over well in Lex regardless of his sports takes.

The website is straightforward sports. All folks have to do is NOT listen to the podcast and NOT follow on Twitter. There are lots of others available and even some to help with damaged feelings. Thoughts and prayers for those affected.

He's a typical lib. Say he's for free speech and discussion, have a hissy fit whenever anyone doesn't agree with him and use broad, vague, and undefined terms to act like he is right. Never gives you any facts, just insults and broad terms that really mean nothing.

Got some fame and thinks he is better than people now.

But, it's a quick fix, stop listening. I did.

Case and point right here. No reason for this to be posted.

I agree. He baits people into decisive conversation. He does this politically as well. I find him to be the definition of a hypocrite on Twitter. I think he is completely different on the show vs online.

Liberals in 2020: Fans burning shirts is reprehensible and irresponsible, but people burning buildings down and rioting is totally copacetic. GTFO with this nonsense.

"The bad section of our fan base" aka the majority of Kentuckians who dont support rioting, looting, burning, defunding police, communism, shooting officers, the racists running BLM, etc. Yep. Clearly we are the problem, not people who prioritize recruiting by pandering instead of standing up for what's right. Every single person who complains about those things above are why we ***** about the staffs endorsing BLM. We are ALL for equal and fair treatment for all Americans and want racism to end. Stop conflating the issues, any person who is trying to be honest about things sees the difference.
