The refs did a great job. Made it look good. Made it look real close. Hope they enjoy those vacations in the Virgins Islands. .

Despite an incredible performance by UNC, they were unable to help refs defeat Villanova tonight.

I know it ain't gonna happen but just imagine how massively huge the meltdown would be among UNCheat fans if the NCAA were to completely hammer them and actually decided to strip them of the 93, 05 and 09 titles. That would leave them with only 2 titles then if we were to win the Title #6 next year. It would be EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was the first thing that came to mind for me as well. They got a title thanks to the refs rooking Nova in 2005 on that call.

The only flaw in this is that they would not acknowledge being stripped of the titles. In their warped minds, they still one those and the corrupt NCAA couldn't take them away.

Roy complained about them after the game. And THR? Some of their mods are actually encouraging fans who are trying to admit clean defeat to blame the refs. Can't make it up!
Yes, it's hard to comprehend the paranoia of some UNC fans. While there were certainly a few questionable calls that went against them (including that Hicks play late), reality is that college officiating is so poor that every team is going to be the on the wrong side of some bad calls from time to time. You just have to play through it. For whatever reason, a segment of UNC fans seem to be under the delusion that they root for the only team in America that is constantly being victimized by a corrupt and unfair whistle -- often driven by overzealous coaches who "intimidate" the refs to give them a call. I can certainly understand their frustration with that Hicks play -- and would probably be whining about that call if it had gone against us. But it's certainly hard to understand the reactions of some.
While I thought UNC played an outstanding game last night, IMO, Nova was clearly the better team for much of last night. In fact, I highly doubt this game would have come down to the last possession if it were not for an astonishingly good shooting performance (11 of 17 from 3) from a UNC team that normally doesn't shoot the ball well at all. 11 of 17 would be a historic night for a 3 pt. shooting team like Duke. It's incomprehensibly lucky for a team like UNC that didn't have a single 40% 3 pt. shooter on its entire roster. Joel Berry, for instance, entered last night with only one performance on his resume where he made more than 3s -- and that was a game where he went 5 of 9. Last night he was 4 of 4 from 3. That's insane. UNC would have been run out of the gym the way they were playing had it not been for their 3 top perimeter players being as hot as they've been the entire season.

Yeah, their mods must have been on adderall. When I finally went to bed there were maybe 5 threads steeped in a fever dream of paranoia. Where I live in NJ, none of the hole fans are classless idiots like the vast majority on radar.
The great irony...all the abuse us Villanova fans have suffered from UNC fans regarding the bad travel call in 2005. Calling us losers, etc for complaining about the refs. I was at Monday's game so I was caught up in the moment, and I can't say whether UNC got a bad whistle. I thought UNC had a few over-the-backs that were not called. Anyway, if they did get "screwed" by the refs, I am not going to shed a tear for the cheaters.
