I get it. Technically we could still go to a bowl even if Florida crushed us. But how huge would beating Florida be for the program and its fans? Do you consider it a must win for Stoops?

Not a must win, but team needs to show they have responded. Go down fight like wildcats, and let the score settle itself. We go down and get the same result as last time in swamp, will show team has matured some. We are still a very young football team
0-2 going into the New Mexico game could see a crowd of 25k. I wonder how that'd affect the team's psyche going forward.

No, because we're fully expected to lose. It would however provide a lift, and make it so the other 4 winnable SEC games aren't all must wins (just three of them).
We haven't beaten Florida in over 30 years, and this is a road game. So if you consider this game a must win, then just go ahead and kiss Stoops goodbye. But this game isn't a must win. Stoops will not be fired before November 2017.
Florida is not a must win. Playing well is a must. Not losing by 5 TD's is a much. More importantly, IMO is providing hope to UK fans going into the next two games after UF that are must wins. If after USC we are less than 2-2, then things are more toast than I imagined. Come out of the USC game 2-2 and we still have a shot at 6 wins.

As a Gator fan, I will admit that UF just isn't close to the elite team they have been in the past. Wouldn't surprise at all that UK gives us a game that goes down to the wire, then who knows? Not a believer in Stoops in the least, but I still expect a tough game, because we have issues as well.
Here's how I see it. We will easily handle NM State and Austin Peay at home. We ought to beat South Carolina, MSU, and Vandy at home too, but we aren't strong enough defensively to win all those games unless we are well prepared and sharp every time out. The Missouri game is a problem because it is on the road, and because Missouri still has a strong defense. But those are the 6 games we still have a realistic chance to win. We will play Florida and Louisville on the road, so I anticipate those games will be large disappointments. I would like to be wrong about that, but all of my preseason concerns about our defensive front 7 seem to be coming true.
I have always been behind Stoops, but I don't think it will do much good in the long run to misunderstand the challenges facing our football team in these road games. No game is unwinnable, and upsets do happen. But there are reasons Kentucky hasn't beaten Florida in more than 30 years. Our football team doesn't have an SEC defensive line. So I will try to approach each game realistically. Building unrealistic expectations leads to the emotional meltdowns we see here after every loss, and even after some wins.
Not enough. Stoops can beat teams if they are crappy enough. At some point Stoops needs to be a team not named Alabama State or Charlotte. He's proven he can lose to teams he's not supposed to. If he wants to keep his job he needs to have at least one big win to prove that he's even remotely capable of it.
As bad a coach as Joker was he had done several things Stoops hasn't been able to do yet. Beat Louisville, go bowling and knocked off Tennessee. Even those things were not enough for Joker. Stoops must do at least one of those things. He can of course substitute Florida or Georgia for Tennessee but he has to be someone note worthy.
This team will only win 3 may be 4 games. The coaching staff has a very low football game decision making I.Q. They can't make half time or game time adjustments. Seems to be no ability to keep players focused and motivated during the game.

No. Competitive yes but not a must win. I think there is reasonable chance we can win but it is not a must win for me
Their defense is still nasty and we will have trouble scoring all night. They might as well but we aint beating them with that defense.
Actually and I think we all truly feel this way....... UF is a "please dont get embarrassed" game... so we dont lose all confidence and have our guys completely give up. then its on to USC which becomes a must win game

I am just going to let them play the game, and hopefully yell myself hoarse. That is always a good sign. I get silent and sullen when we go in the tank.
Must win(not happening)Florida may not be as good as they have been, but we have nothing even resembling a bottom tier sec front 7(not even cusa for that matter). I just hope it closer than 4 td's. I have 0 confidence in the d's ability to stop the run.
