Is it too early to say that

JQ is head and shoulders above amari, amari's calling card was passing, and i say flashes from jq, and jq is way more assertive on the offensive and defensive end

JQ is a top 5 draft pick and Amari was a fringe NBA prospect. JQ has a very high ceiling and can do things athletically and skill wise Amari couldn’t. Love Amari but the only comparison is size, JQ is a couple levels above Amaris ceiling as a player and he’s only 18.

I think we should take a wait and see approach. Amari was awesome last year and tbh, they are much different players.

What Amari did last year on offense, running it from the top, was a thing of beauty, Pope did a good job there and Amari ran it to perfection.

I just want JQ to stay healthy and help carry this team to its ceiling.

We have to be careful not to have a Big Z reaction to JQ. But to be fair neither big Z or Amari was a projected top 10 pic like Q is. I think JQ is gonna be big for us and clearly our most talented player. But I saw posters yesterday comparing him to Anthony Davis. That’s actually not fair to the kid himself.

JQ comes into the game and first thing he does is make a fall away 15 foot bank fader. He has clearly worked on his shot during the rehab. He already last year was an elite defender that can shut down a side of the court by his gravity alone. He already had passing skills and slashing. TLDR: At minimum, JQ is a monster and he very well may have added some finesse to his game that could make him a top 5 draft pick. Not a prediction, just noting a possibility.

Not the same, at all
JQs highlights were stuff that you can do against anyone . Defense, rebounding, and power dunks. Z got on fire one game from outside when he wasn't that good of a shooter JQ could Dunk the ball with big Z still holding it.

Most impressed with JQs laterals and length hard to get around that dude and the length speaks for itself.

There is no worry about a Big Z disappointment. JQ was doing this last year and made the Big 12 All Defensive Team as a player not even eligible for the draft due to age.

I knew JQ would more than likely be a game changer, but that defensive possession where he absolutely denied the Ejifor (sp??) kid in the lane really opened my eyes 100%. He had sort of bullied us up until that point. I felt like that changed the game through our players eyes. Then he went on to do about a dozen other things. Then, the reappearance of Lowe and all he brought was amazing for us. Hopefully, from this point on.

JQ is way better around the rim than Williams, who seemed more comfortable on the perimeter.
