Not worth the click and listen right now. We need to win Saturday to even begin to discuss a turn around. Indiana was a very limited team. Probably will be a quad 2 win in the long run

It’s a film review podcast. That’s just what they named the episode

I think it was the beginning of them getting their **** together. Hopefully they don’t regress and continue to move forward. That Gonzaga game was a ******* **** show and a low point to match the cloggers so they’ve got a long way to go but it was a good first step. Beating IU is always a good thing.

Some of our fan base is permanently bitter and refuse to allow themselves even a moment of joy. They want to be miserable every moment until we win a championship, and by the next day will go right back to stressing about how much we will suck the next season. Best to just ignore them.

I’ll never stop talking sense though. Maybe 5% of it lands lol

It's hard for me to listen to anyone who hasn't lived through either the Rupp Era or the Pitino Era tell BBN to basically be patient. That's essentially what Ramsey has done most of this early season.

Brandon Ramsey, just like Jack Pilgrim, grew up on Tubby Smith and a small period of dominant success under Calipari. He's totally cool with "enjoying the process" and I find these fans place a limitation of what UK fans should ever expect. They seem to be cool with a permanent stop in the Sweet Sixteen (because that's what Tubby mostly was on average), as long as you win "the right way." I know he and Zach have to gain views for their shows, but beating an unranked team at Rupp is not the stuff of "turning a corner" when the opponents that mattered so far - all four of them - didn't allow us to turn any corners, and three of them flat-out embarrassed Kentucky for most of the game.

Beat some of those teams, and then get back to me about turning a corner.

So…if I’m under 40 but spent an exorbitant amount of time rewatching and studying prior eras, you would say my opinion is less valid, for example?

Three things i noticed in that game 1) way better effort and 2) we actually ran more zoom instead of high ball screen 3) we didn't sub as much.

The offense itself fed off the effort on the other end, but at least we ran something. Still cant tell if the previous games of virtually no set offense was coaching or rebellion.

I was there. My first chance in many years. Your points are dead on, but the one you missed, and maybe the most important, they played very good defense in the second half. They smothered the Hoosiers. The effort on defense is what is needed every game to make this team competitive.

Not less valid…but man…you need to have lived it to fully respect it and grasp it. It’s one thing to watch the films. It’s quite another to have lived through the whole mess of uncle Eddie and the Unforgettables. Just how bad they were in the beginning, but how effing hard they played. How good damned near everyone else in college bball seemed to be back then. Teams were full of junior and senior STUDS. And then just the absolute game changer Mash was and how he set the table for everything moving forward. It’s completely different to have lived the entirety of the rebirth than to simply have watched it on film.

Effort was far better. Zoom isn’t the answer with this bunch. The action is still there, but there’s going to be way more action lower on the court moving forward. More focus on post splits, screen the screener and flex action. I think Pope knows his offense from last yr is useless with this group. They can’t shoot. Zoom is easy to defend with a bunch of non shooters running it.

Agreed. Said the same thing. People kept asking why we stop running it…the opponents are literally going under everything. Shuts the water off.

Disappointing to hear, but I get it. Guess I’ll sit at the kiddie table and let the adults discuss from now on lol

Saul, we all know you don't like Pope and you think this team sucks. We get it. Of course you are entitled to crow about it as much as you want, but would it be too much to ask that you stay out of threads that are trying to be positive? None of us want to listen to your miserable ***.

So you would rather live in fantasy land and never face reality??

the first play they "broke down" was enough for me. It was a forced shot by Lowe that absolutely wont work in the SEC against teams who dont play as many honks as IU. It will get shoved down his throat by any average forward / big in the conference and he talked for five minutes about how it was a positive. it was only a positive because he made the shot.
