That's how people cope in the hard times.I do not get the hype with Lowe at all. Will he help? Yeah, probably.
But this is a dude who was mediocre (at best) at Pitt. People are acting like this is an all-American that we’ve been missing.
True, but might as well play him. He’s going to deal with this until he gets hurt bad enough to be out the rest of the season anyway, and we need to stop the bleeding now. If we can win this one, it helps us tremendously across the board (like media, recruiting, fanbase, etc etc)Probably, but you can bet your azz (have to do this as the new Jones-owned CI blocks even our basic curse words..) that the opposing coaches and guarding PGs will be doing all they can to run into that shoulder and put him out for good.
This is going to be especially true against teams like IU and the entire SEC. Watch for an inordinate amount of highly physical screens and "accidental" run ins with Lowe from the defense.
For sure, then Chandler and Kam. Just please stop subbing 4 guys at a time. Kills any momentum. And please notice if Oweh or someone is getting hot and leave him in!I’d like to see…

If he will have the mindset as a pass first type playmaker, and break down the initial on ball defense, he will help a lot. No hero ball!I do not get the hype with Lowe at all. Will he help? Yeah, probably.

Yes, this is the honest truth. Even at full health, he's just another good player. The team is full of players like him- pretty good, role player, not a first option, not a great defender. He's not going to suddenly make the offense great. In fact, he's a weaker defender than the guys who've been starting in his absence, and not a better shooter. The ONLY thing i I expect him to help is being able to create some open shots, which one of our average shooters still need to make.I do not get the hype with Lowe at all. Will he help? Yeah, probably.

I contend that Pope has little feel for the game flow/timing. He relies on data. Well data is great but a big part of it is your own eyeballs and feel for the game. I think he outsmarts himself with data.Another thing… Why does Pope bring starters/ projected starters off the bench when they come back from injury?
If a guy can play, play them in their natural flow of the game! Just more head scratching nonsense from Pope and Co.
I don’t think it’s data. I hate Pope’s substitution patterns and always have. Oats uses the same data and doesn’t do the hockey line changes. I think Pope is just too formulaic in how he sets the rotations and the hockey line changes help him distribute the minutes equally. I can assure you the data will tell you to prioritize minutes for your most effective players.I contend that Pope has little feel for the game flow/timing. He relies on data. Most people say he was asked to do to much at Pitt which hurt his performance.I do not get the hype with Lowe at all. Will he help? Yeah, probably.

I think you're more right than me for sure. But I do think he uses data to say a player needs only so many mins before he tires out or is not as effective. His rotations are awful.I don’t think it’s data. I hate Pope’s substitution patterns and always have. Oats uses the same data and doesn’t do the hockey line changes. You’re correct. Pope uses data that tracks performance related to minutes played and tries to keep those spurts within an optimal range. He could easily still execute that by staggering minutes rather than hockey line changes. I personally don’t like using that data to begin with. For many years, data scientists believed that the concept of “momentum” in basketball had very little credibility and wasn’t shown to have a significant effect in the data, but newer studies show that, duh, momentum is a real thing and players get hot and make shots they normally wouldn’t. To me, the substitution patterns keep guys from getting hot.I think you're more right than me for sure. But I do think he uses data to say a player needs only so many mins before he tires out or is not as effective. His rotations are awful.
couldn't agree more. we're desperate for this guy to come back and save us? damn we must really be down bad thenI do not get the hype with Lowe at all. Will he help? Yeah, probably.

I agree. When he has been healthy enough to play, I've seen very little from him that matches the hype.I do not get the hype with Lowe at all. Will he help? Yeah, probably.

If he plays, he won't start and might only see 8-10 minutes all game, that's my prediction. Just too risky to put him back in 100% right now.if he goes down again today i might cry
