Are we headed for a world in CFB where the strategy of recruiting unheralded 1/3* players and developing them even having them for 5 years is over? It appears that if you try that approach, the elite teams will take your top players each year. Does not seem feasible unless your players consider your team kind of a dream school - like fans. Can anyone win with this model now? MSU is making a living lifting these type players from smaller programs. Even PSU is going to lose several players each year who may have even been 4* recruits MAC, Sunbelt, MW. AAC. etc are now just minor league for big schools. Roster turnover rate is just a new model for coaches to manage.

Can a school like Temple keep the players they have developed and every year 1-2 get NFL opportunity? These guys seem to be transferring at a faster rate. I didnt mean that teams are not developing players as that is foundational to the sport. it is more about taking the diamond in the rough and making is shiny. These players seem to transfer if you are a middle tier program.

One doesn't have to look further than most the guys PSU has brought in through the portal to see this happening. With the portal, NIL deals, and the creation of super conferences, I wonder what will happen to non-P5 programs and P-5 programs aren't part of the 50-60 schools that make up the super conferences.
