Seems like the SEC teams are losing a lot more Pre conference games this year compared to last year.
is it time to go to 20 conference games to cut out cupcakes?

Both. It’s a weighted scale and tipped a little. SEC has taken an expected dip and other conferences, such as the ACC and Big Ten have gotten better.

The SEC was so strong last year, it had nowhere to go but down.

Last year was a freakish anomaly. Seemed like most of the conference just happened to have its best team in years in the same year. The SEC never had a season like that before, and may never again.

So, yeah, of course it’s taken a drop this year. It’s unrealistic to think it could go any direction but down from that. And, judging by early performances, it’s a rather big drop.

There is a lot of equality in the game this year. Michigan and Duke sit at the top, but then there are about 10-15 other teams that could win against anyone.

What's crazy is the SEC is down and Pope and UK is going to have an even worse record than what we had last year if we keep going down the same road we are now.

Yes to both.
Last year the SEC was historically good. It could only come down. And the ACC and other leagues have gotten better.
