Is there a QB on the roster that can hit Durante in stride?

This is not meant as an insult at all. The Steelers had the same issue with Ben when we had Mike Wallace. Ben has a good arm, but he was never able to hit him in stride because Wallace had world class speed...which I think Jovon has as well.

I would guess Geno would have been able to get it done.

From what I've heard Chug and Stills don't seem to have a rocket arm either. Crest hasn't thrown enough in game action for me to even guess.

Yes...........WV has a QB that can hit their receiver mid stride but ...............not every time. Beat a team 44-0 and the fans still want more. MORE MORE MORE MORE MORE. I've got 2................I want 3.

I think we're getting some insight into Holg's repeated pre-season comments about the QB and the receivers working on timing. I suspect we'll see a lot passes in the Liberty game working on that very thing.

Skylar should get better at hitting the guys in stride. But one time he hit Durante in stride on the goal line and Jovon wasn't even looking for the ball. It goes both ways and I think it will improve both ways.

If we show just incremental improvement every week or two on this timing thing this offense can become lethal.

It's almost as if you lack the ability to read. It was compliment of Durante >>>>> insult of any WVU QB.

Durante looks like he could be a very special player. Different position but reminded me of Amos' debut.

Yes .............Warez can hit a receiver 'in stride'! I did it in college and in the NFL as well. I hit many a receiver 'in stride'! Is there any other way? Being able to read? What's that got to do with anything?

Terry Bradshaw never learned to read. Namath did, but then he forgot how. Reading just confuses a top flight football hurling phenom.

The beauty of Durante is that, if you get the ball where he can reach it, belt-high or head-high and maybe even shoetop-high, he'll catch it. And after a supersonic flight downfield, too.
For a true freshman, Durante is fantastic. Hell, for a seasoned senior, he'd be fantastic. The upside for Durante, barring injuries, has me having orgasms watching him play in Mountaineer Field and on my Fox Sports replay of the game.
WVU may have two Kevin Whites in a row, only this one is much speedier!

You just assume he will be a good 15-20# heavier by the time he leaves here. Barring injury, he might be the best we have ever had here. I know that's a lot to put on a guy after 1 game, but he is electric on the field.

Kid is special. Gibson is too.We might be looking at the best wr combo to ever play at WVU. Obviously its early but you can see those two are a different caliber of wr

Howard seems to be able to throw the deep ball fairly well, but still seems to struggle with the underneath throws. He had the same issues in the bowl game last year. I wonder if it has something to do with his height and inability to see his receivers on those patterns. Just a thought.

I like how Howard threw the deep ball in game #1. The only other QB that may not under throw Durante and Gibson would be Jerry Porter . . . but he'd probably be moved again to free safety.[roll]
