It is really about marketing/branding. Creating buzzwords that generate a feeling of continuity. It will continue to spread through all of the sports eventually as a means of "branding" our athletics.</p>

She will need a good bit of "learning curve slack" in order to get up to speed as a head coach. Like Mullen, she's very green in terms of running a program. Like Mullen, she will make blunders. Unlike Mullen, her blunders will be visible to tens of people as opposed to tens of thousands of people.

basketball: not that I've seen. btw, what IS the brand ofour basketball program? I don't call out or criticize players, specifically, because they do not get paid and are just kids. .. just a personal policy. I believe it would serve well if Stricklin, or hell even Mullen, had a little sit down with a player(s) and explained this whole "relentless effort" idea, which I believe applies in the offseason and training aspect as well, not just on the court.

Forgive these crazy State fans that are all of the sudden taking interest in a non Big-3 sport because our AD appears to be changing the culture of our entire athletic department. Some of them must have written a letter or something.

I'm not sure why, but just in the short time I listed to Coach Stuedeman in the Marcello interview, the announcement on Maroon to the Max, and from her record at Alabama, I have a good feeling that MSU softball is going to be a hot commodity in coming years. I get a good feeling that State softball is going to be on the level of the big programs in the future. Great hire, Scott!! Keep moving forward...
