Both are true. However, the Cards improvement has not been enough.

The ACC teams now have plenty of tape to watch to find and expose the Cards flaws. This is not the old BE or even CUSA teams we are competing against now.

These ACC teams all have good talent and coaching too. Our players and staff must avoid the trap of thinking all they have to do is show up and we will win, especially at home. Those days have passed.

Giving up long drives to the opposition on the first possession is not a good trend to have. I think CU's Dabo exploited that in this game. Hence winning the toss and electing to receive first. I could be wrong but with the defensive team(s) that CU have had, I would have thought they would have deferred and started on defense not offense.

But what the hell do I know? This was a sad, bad loss that really stings the fan base and team.

Not expected and certainly not welcomed.

Gotta regroup and go kick some Mustang butt in prep for the kitties. Can they do it?

We're definitely not getting better this year.. And if you look at the conference overall its not getting better either. ACC flagship programs FSU, Clemson, Miami, and even VaTech or down from their historical norms..

I agree with Mayoman on more tape to scout with. I guarantee all of our future opponent’s with attack our pass defense. Against Miami we looked awesome on pass defense but that was the last game we did.
The same thing is going to happen to us and everybody else in basketball.
