We getting closer to games we have better threads but I actually like just like hearing what other Cat Fans think about stuff us comman folk understand and like per say. Hell politics is the second largest thing beside the damn virus all year. Before to long we will have a twelve page thread about our free throw shooting. Plenty of time this year for guys to work on them but we expect a team to be 98 % so we can talk about anything and everything and this is why its the best board in the world

This divisiveness we're experiencing occurs in 4 year cycles. Some cycles involve more passion than others. We're witnessing peak passion right now. It appears Team B scored a victory. Team T is unhappy with the result. Emotions are running rather high this cycle.

My daughter came home fuming over another kid talking about the votes going the way they have and saying some really offensive stuff about American voters in general. I told her to calm down, the girl's feelings were hurt, and don't hold a grudge. I told her that she will learn that there are way better reasons to hate people than just politics.

Not at all, less sports this year plus, I will talk politics when I want. I watch sports and shows to get away from the rest of the world and that is when I don't want it.

My point is having a political thread on a sports board isn’t mixing politics and sports. It’s the exact opposite. It’s creating a spot all to itself so it doesn’t get discussed anywhere else.

False. Not during sporting games, concerts, and entertainment venues. We pay to be entertained, not to hear other people's political views.
The athletes and announcers have a right to say whatever they want. If their employer has a problem with it they can fire them. If we have a problem with it we can stop purchasing or ignore it. It should be obvious that not everyone playing NBA Basketball or NFL football does not agree with me or you politically. It's funny to me that just because they make a statement and confirm this is true that many people want to tune them out.

Thus there are people in the major sports leagues that support equality and social justice. When sports stars speak out it is not a surprise or coming out of left field. No. Why do you think it is odd? Political thread- talking politics. Sports thread- sports. Keep them separate. Pretty simple if you ask me.
That is why I quit watching and so have so many others. No one said anything about they could not voice opinions. We simply say we don't want to hear it with everything we watch. This is one big reason why viewership is down.

Yes, I'm a lemming. I just follow everyone around like a dog on a leash. One thing I understand and you should also understand is that most people are free thinkers. I have come to many of the conclusions I have on my own through logic, reason, research, and education. Calling me a lemming allows you invalidate my ideas as something I didn't come to on my own. I want you to understand that I did come to my ideas on my own and I just don't agree with some of your ideas. We probably agree on plenty and I bet we could build more ways to work from there, but calling me a lemming invalidates me and allows you to demonize me as part of some unknown mysterious deep state that no one has evidence it exists. Please provide evidence and then I can consider the deep state and whether I fall into it. Otherwise it would behoove you to understand that most people that don't agree with the Trump approach just don't agree with it. We aren't being nefariously brainwashed by some secret operation. We can read, write, and do arithmetic too.
