This is the same stuff we heard from Cal’s biggest fans. Early season games are *NOT* meaningless. With the SEC as tough as it is, UK has to steal a few high profile wins. Lose enough of them and you’re almost always guaranteed a lower seed in March.

You may have a bad memory of that game. Duke was handling us pretty well until their best defender, Sion James, got hurt and Flagg and Knuppel had cramping issues.

This just isn’t true. Conference play is like another season and conference tourneys and March madness is like a third season. Proven time and again every single year

Record says otherwise. Sit @ 3-2 five games into the season. Typically, if things seem alarming and aren't passing the eye test, it tends to carry forward.
I can't think of any past successful teams that lost an exhibition and the first 2 marquee games by double digits.

Fixing the rotten apple player(s) could very well turn this all around. A lot of what we saw last night was due to lack of chemistry and respect for the system and staff. But it comes down to Pope demanding it of the players.

I think the way in which they lost is the issue. Essentially non-competitive in both losses.
