It's Devin Booker gifting the Hogs now.

As if we thought ANY of Cal's mercenaries gave two shites about the name on the front of the jersey....
There's nuance in life. Booker probably knows zero coaches or players on the UK team on a personal level. He is still close to Cal, is (or at least was) very close friends with Ulis, and probably knows a few of the guys like Wagner a little bit.

I think you guys get way too worked up over stuff like this and really undervalue what it's like to have a very close personal relationship to your old coach.

Nah, he sold out. You don’t bleed blue and start doing **** like that. I don’t care personally because I wouldn’t buy his stuff to begin with, but I don’t think he is loyal to the University.

It's kind of odd, two players in particular like Shepard and Booker, neither played as much as they should have and they know how loyal Kentucky fans are and both of them make headlines supporting Calipari. This proves that both of them never deep down felt like most of us fans do about our program, that's what makes the big blue nation special. The program is bigger than any coach or player, they are both good guys, but neither were here long enough to fully grasp what playing here means. Shepard should have known but money changes things. Would a Carolina player who played for smith wear a Duke shirt if Smith left Carolina for Duke? Arkansas was and is a rival and it will grow into a bigger one as long as Cal is there.

Dev sold my betting slip last night 😔.

But on topic he posted this a couple of weeks ago . I’m sure he still has love for Kentucky. People just have to realize a lot of these guys have a great relationship with their former coach . If he ask for shoes they most likely wouldn’t say no.

You know he's literally got a line of shoes with Nike that have multiple Kentucky colorways, right? He's got a white and blue shoe with a UK logo on it and a shoe coming out in April that's an homage to the denim uniforms. He still very publicly supports UK.

Why do you spin this as something negative with their relationship to the program instead of it being something positive for their relationship with Cal? For all his flaws, seemingly every single one of his former players loved playing for him and loves him as a person. That's no the type of relationship you just throw away because he goes to another school.

Ole sellout lol
Booker also gifted new Wildcats head coach Mark Pope a pair of Book 1s ahead of this season.

Please read the entire story before posting out of your ***.

OP just wants to create division and negativity one day before the Sweet 16.

It's sad that our "fans" (term used lightly) have to create negativity to give themselves something to ***** about.

I have a feeling you'll jump through whatever hoops you need to to stay convinced he's no longer loyal to UK. He also gave shoes to the UK team back in November. It's possible to love your former school and former coach at the same time.
You can have whatever feeling you want. No blue blooded Kentucky player is giving shoes to an in conference rival like that. And let’s be clear I don’t hate or despise him, nor do I care. I live in PHX and I wouldnt buy a ticket to see him play. If I watch the Suns it would be that he happens to play on a team I watch, nothing more. My point is he is trying to play both sides. That’s all I’m saying.

Edit: I didn’t mean that to come across as abrasive, just a conversation. No tone intended.

Bad thing about being a fan is of course fans won’t view things how players view things . We don’t have personal relationships with Cal . Some won’t understand it from an ex players standpoint .

You guys take this stuff way to serious. He can give shoes to his old coach at another school and not lose any allegiance to UK.
This is exactly my thoughts as well.
This like those who said Ulis "sold out" because he is supporting HIS EMPLOYER. Just ridiculous. Yet those same people were probably calling UL fans "butt-hurt" when Kenny Payne was supporting his employer (UK). Get over yourselves!

Reed’s probably having TWO gifts shipped to them in his name right now to one up Booker. Gotta love Reed’s loyalty to the state, the school, and BBN.

I'm not spinning nothing, I said they were good guys, nobody said anything about throwing their relationship away, here it is tournament time, and most Kentucky fans don't want to hear stuff like that right now. They can be friends have cookouts together and that's ok with me, but not everyone of his players loved playing for him, quite a few left the program because of him.

Quite presumptuous aren’t you? I didn’t care what Kenny did and I don’t care what Booker does. It’s just a thread to discuss things. Not much fun if we all agree is it?

It’s basketball, not a literal war with lives on the line. I think some of our fans take it way too personally that some of our players maintained friendships with people who now play or coach for an “enemy” program and show support for them. Expecting them to throw those relationships away and be 100% focused on only supporting one institution is kind of unreasonable, honestly.

I know fans can be a little unreasonable and these are grown men that can support whoever they please. With that being said. Devin Booker can kick rocks with Reed.

Seriously though it is kind of dumb. They know how crazy BBN is about their team. You can support Cal without giving a middle finger to the fan base.

You can support whoever you want. He played for us though. It is an insult to the program. A lot of these NBA players know that. The ones that never really cared like Reed and Booker don't deserve the support from UK because they aren't supporting us are they?

I mean Bam just made Kevin love wear a uk shirt for ucla losing b4 uk. Dillingham was all decked out in UK stuff on GameDay the other day.
Yea because they have respect for UK. Others we were a stopping point for.

Hell one of our very own (Reed) rocked Arky gear on top of UK. He did nothing for us except launch a few balls into the stands against oakland and look as flustared as I've seen anyone be.

No legacy for these losers don't invite them back for the Y. We have players that went on to do nothing related to basketball that mean more to our program then some dude that stopped by for a year because he was promised the best draft stock.

I know its not that serious. I'm not gonna go out of my way to get mad over it. It is a game at the end of the day. However I can choose not to like you for disrespecting something that many of the fans consider to be more than a game.

Not at all, just posted because it was UK related and who is supporting Cal.
Some of our guys went to summer camps didn't they? Doesn't matter to me, just posting stories that are tied to us.
I posted because Booker also supported Pope earlier this year.

What’s funny is that you think the 1 year players that Pope brought in are any different from Calipari’s guys.
