... to see how Pope's system and results on the court affect the attitudes and impressions for recruits over time. I have to believe any skilled and talented player would want to play here and soak up the fun and hang banners. Apart from these things, Pope encourages the players at every opportunity. IMO, if you're an opposing coach recruiting the same player as Kentucky, if it weren't difficult enough already, in the past, it should be damned near impossible to beat UK for that player. IDK ... time will tell and we, as a fanbase, could be on the precipice of UK glory days like we've never before seen. Pitino opened my eyes, years ago, what a special coach could accomplish at THIS program. Calipari was on track but drove the Lambo into the ditch. Pope, I believe, will be better than both ... by a lot.

I don't disagree, but don't forget the driving force for players, not fans.... money. Pope will need to establish some NBA studs, and get that recruit train greased. We don't need them all, like Cal's approach. Just enough to keep Kentucky a hot program that makes pros too. He does THAT and this could be a pretty special era in Kentucky basketball.

100% agreed. It's a business and they are employees and want to maximize their annual pay. We all want that in our profession so anyone that judges college employee athletes for it is out of touch IMO.

The NIL may keep guys around longer and that means more wins overall with a continuation of a good chunk of the roster season to season.

Two-fold. NLI keeps them around longer and or draws in the high talent that would thrive in this system. Gotta like our chances, as long as the $ support is there.

Agree with all
A lot hinges on this year’s success
The $$ support will be there if the product on the floor warrants it
So CMP has a double load on his shoulders this season

Yes to the money situation. I read yesterday that UNC is upping their $$# offer for Wilson and think they have a legitimate chance to beat us for him. If it were on the programs our play yesterday would be clear to a player where they will fit. But, it is no longer that simple.
