I believe the defense will hold its own against the lowly horns. Hawkins gives us better chance on offense but the OL is still concerning to me. SL and bonehead playing calling I’m afraid will continue. I hate to be a doubter, but I’m also a realist. Whorns by 9

Is Texas really the #1 team in the NCAA? They have one impressive win. Michigan 31-12, but is Michigan as good as everyone thought they were early in the season? If OU can find a way to score near 30, I think we have a decent chance of winning another RRR game.

No they aren’t the best team in the nation but at this point they are better than OU. I’ll say Texas 31 OU 20. I hope I’m wrong

So if we can score 30, we may have a chance. 😂. Just saying. I get your point. Texas is a 14 point favorite.

Texas is #3 nationally in total defense and OU is #121 in total offense. While anything is possible, it is highly unlikely that OU scores anywhere close to 30 points in this game. It would probably take a pick-six, scoop and score and a blocked punt for a touchdown to get to 30.

If I was laying down money on the game I would take OU to cover the 14 pts. Texas may be better statistically but you can throw that crap out the window for this rivalry.

OU gets it done and the defense stymies the Horn offense and find just enough offense to win 20-14.

Auburn passing attack showed our backup corners are not where they need to be at the moment. If Texas has any run game we will have problems. I've not seen the Texas defensive front but our OLine play against Auburn was better. I think the key is can we give Hawkins enough time to make deeper passes to keep the Texas D honest. Our 3-4th string receivers are not great blockers yet so we must have Tatum to juke and shed blocks. On the flipside, can we make Texas sort of one dimensional? Texas came back strong on us last year in the second half but with the QB run game and experienced receivers, we found a way. We have 50% of that equation this year.

My unfortunate prediction:
Texas 34
OU: 21

This week, l suspect a lot of us see Texas winning with that disclaimer: l hope l'm wrong. I do think we have a decent chance. But the Horn defense has been very good.

I don't see them allowing us more than 17. And l don't see them scoring less than 21. I expect something similar to the UTenn result.

HOPE I'M WRONG.

In 2015 we were so highly favored, that Horn fans really didn't want to go, and their tickets were abundant. OU end tickets were hard to find and a lot more expensive. So the night before the RRR game, I bought a single from a Horn fan in the end zone on their end. Of course, they beat us 24-17, but they led double digits most of the game, and I was miserable, watching all Horn fans having a great time was worse than the beating we took on the field. We scored late to cut the lead to seven.

The guy who sold me the ticket was a good guy, who actually worked at NASA in Houston. He was fine. His two sons weren't very happy that their dad sold his extra to an OU fan.

Whatever happens for you Saturday can't be worse than that.

My man, hanging out with two idiot fanbases while getting OUr *** beat down can be brutal with these folk. I do it to them, OU has owned the whorns the last 20+ years. I expect nothing less from them on the same token. We've gotten along forever howbeit. Like my grandpappy used to say, "the sun shines on a dog's *** ever now and then". 😁

"The first SEC student athlete availability report this week will release Wednesday evening. Venables said he's hopeful to get a few of the injured receivers back "in a few weeks.""

Burks back is imperative. It sounds like Dasan McCullough might be back at Cheetah as well.

All of the good news is on betting sites, and I'm at work, so betting sites are blocked. :)

Although I predicted OU to win, I think we all know Texas is likely to win. This may sound weird but even in a loss it could be a win for the team going forward if the offense takes a big leap forward in this game. I think as fans we will also know more about this defense to give us a better outlook on OUs chances the rest of the season.

I agree about the outcome. No one wants to say it, but unless our offence gets way better, really quick, we're going to be on the wrong side of a beat down. Good thing I am a optimistic person 😁.

Yeah, I’m just wanting to see a real effort/improvement on both sides of the ball. Bottom line, this is going to be a big test for the Sooners. Today’s injury report isn’t very encouraging.

I know one thing..I'm not going to spend all week getting psyched up about it. After all these years, I can't count the number of times I rearrange my schedule, cook out, etc. only to be let down by my sooners. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited about it, but I'm not going to be devastated if they lose. I have Texas 28 - 14. I just don't think our offense will be able to score enough.

I agree except I can’t help getting excited about the prospects of a big upset. Boomer!

Surprising outcomes is what makes the shootout special. Make no mistake I'm down on my team no matter how bleak it might be forecast. I will be pushing up daisies believing we can run the table every season. "Sooner Magic"

Thanks JC

I won’t count out the Sooners but no idea of the score so will say 23-21 OU by a safety

I'm not confident in an OU win, but a -14.5 Texas line seems a bit ridiculous to me for this game. That's essentially a prediction for a blowout.

If I was a gambler, I would definitely take OU.
For a head-to-head, I can't take Texass, so I just have to keep my mouth closed.

I am hoping that by 6:30 pm ESPN, Texas fans and all the OU “Sucks” people are crying and making excuses. That would make my day.

I will be rooting for my Sooners to keep it close: Whorns 27 - Sooners 13.

Is that considered close?

OU 17
UT 28

Defense keeps it close but offense could not score enough without an effective run game . Too much to ask of Hawkins to rescue the offense. Hope am wrong

No Burks is a huge deal. It is even more surprising given the bye week before this game. I venture to say he won’t be back this year.

This game almost always comes down to 2 things.

Whoever gets to 150 yards rushing first

Whoever runs the ball the best.

We have been able to establish any kind of running game, this year. Hopefully they get this worked out

I think we can keep them from scoring more than 28. I don’t think we will see anything but a field goal or 2 from the offense. Sooner magic will have to prove me wrong.

Kinda hard to believe that these kids are getting hurt so much. Some of them barely even get hit and get hurt. Are we just overly cautious these days that kids can't play with a little pain? They seem so fragile
