Man, what a difference a home court makes. NU beats Wisky at WRA. IU kills NU at Assembly Hall. Now UW will beat IU at Kohl.

Looks like WRA will be a sell-out for MSU. Hope that makes the difference for NU!

Knew Indiana would play a stinker of a game eventually. Too bad they couldn't do it one game earlier.

That Wisconsin redshirt freshman, Ethan Happ, schooled Bryant, the more publicized Indiana guy, all night. He's from Illinois and hardly had any major offers outside of Wisconsin. Looks as if the Badgers might have come up with another under-the-radar big guy.

And he's related to NU alum and current MLB pitcher JA Happ......

MSU with Valentine back is pretty damned good. When they get their point guard back in action, they'll be even better.

I haven't seen it this season. Their big guys really suck compared to MSU teams of the past. I think they have been a vastly overrated team this year. I expect an early departure from the NCAAs.

I don't know that I agree with you there, their 4 losses are two 1-point games to Wisconsin and Nebraska and two to Iowa, who is destroying everything in their path right now. This, while dealing with injuries to one of the best players in the country and their starting PG. Plus, never bet against Izzo in March - they've exited the tournament prior to the Sweet 16 exactly one time in the last 8 seasons.

They've beaten two top 10 teams. I'd certainly like our team to suck like that. Costello appears to be coming on, and Schilling is just rounding into shape after coming back from an injury. The absence of Nairn has hurt them against quick guards. I'd never bet on Izzo departing early from the NCAA.

My statement is that this year's MSU team isn't all that good by MSU standards and that their big guys suck compared to MSU teams of the past. Comparing to NU is silly as we are world record holding for program suck.

Costello is averaging 13.5 points and 11 rebounds in B1G play in 25 minutes per game himself. Their other two bigs are averaging 12 points and 8 boards combined in limited minutes. How does that suck? Sure, they aren't Draymond Green, but they're perfectly serviceable. Last year their bigs averaged 10.7 points and 9 boards per game. Valentine is averaging 18 points, 7 boards and 5 assists per game this year with everyone keying on him. They'll be just fine, and I worry that we're facing another blowout tomorrow night.

What have they lost so far, four games? Last year, they had lost seven by the end of January, including a loss to Texas Southern, and had 11 losses entering the NCAA tourney. They got knocked right out of the NCAA tourney — in the final four. As far as the NU comparison, I think there are a lot of other teams that would like to have Michigan State's record at this point.

Just haven't been impressed in the seven or eight games I have watched them play so far. That's all. Not a vintage MSU team. And, of course, just one guy's opinion.
