I generally have my big blue glasses on most of the time . . . but I am getting old . . . to,get to the point, this is a poorly coached in-game team . . . CMS comments on KRS were pitiful . . . I do say CMS gets 5 years, but imhave had it . . . we are never in the immediate future going to recruit at the level of several SEC teams . . . but if we are going to do,what ever we do, can't we at least be exciting???? When Hal Mumme was coach and Tim was the QB, we had 3 basic plays . . . run out of several formations . . . but the play was the same 90% of the time. . . . get open . . . The OP says he has been a UK football fan for 50 years and THIS is the team that runs him off??? During that period, we have been worse than this more than half the time.
Amazing isn't it Stretch98. I have been a fan for over 50 years and this current staff is not close to the worse I have seen. The problem with a lot of these negative posts is that they think a football program can be turned from what Stoops inherited to a winner in the SEC in 2 or 3 years. Go Cats!!

No maybe not 80% but I'm telling you living in Lexington I don't know too many people happy with his performance to where it's obvious the majority aren't happy with what he's doing here. He has a point.. Stoops is one of the worst in game coaches I've ever seen just a little bit better than joker in that aspect but barely. And it almost seems inevitable that towles is gonna walk onto the field and take the first snap under center.. Which will also be the final straw with me for the stoops era even though he should get 5 years not saying he shouldn't but the moment he lets towles take the first snap under center is the moment he'll only have a bout a handful of blind as a bat fans left. I'm ready to throw a chair thru my tv when I see towles take the first snap. Especially if barker doesn't get but 2 throws the whole game all on uks last series with the ball. After a game full of towles playing in his normal trashy fashion. Oh I'm ready to light the torch and lead the mob.

Where did you get 80% or thereabouts? Besides, there are many more fans outside of Lexington than there are in Lexington. I am from a UK family and I know many UK fans and they aren't ready to give up on this staff just 2 years in from rock bottom. Go Cats!!
The guy behind me said the exact same thing during the Auburn game. Said he was tired of it when we were down 7. Maybe it's the same guy and he's a psychic and saw the 2nd half collapse coming. I don't know.

well I live in the heart of downtown lex and as far as Lexington goes. Most have given up. I'm around too many fans at all times to not be able to give you that answer with full confidence.
I'm telling you many are more than unhappy with his coaching how is that so hard to believe? You know how many people are tired of seeing low quality football and lower quality coaching?

I don't think anyone is sick of Stoops. Most fans I know like and respect him.They are just sick of watching unwatchable football and are beginning to lose all hope that even Coach Jesus could make UK football competitive in the SEC.

The people that are upset are the ones that for whatever reason thought we'd beat Fla, Auburn, MSU, ut and UGA. Most of us that have been watching for years knew that was very unlikely. I predicted 4-6 wins this year. Anyone thinking there was a better chance of beating any of those teams than that of losing simply didn't have a clue as to where we are in this recovery stage or how much talent those teams have. .
I will admit that I was disappointed in the EKU performance but attributed that to a letdown following a big win....which happens with kids! As for the last four games...the Auburn game had too much emotional build-up and let-down. They trended downhill, which happens with kids!
We lost four games that 95% of all college Football fans across the nation would have expected us to lose. They will be ready Saturday because the kids will enter the game believing they will win it.

A byproduct, i think, of John Calipari's stunning brilliance in reviving the basketball program in one recruiting cycle.
Put me in the camp that wants to give CMS 5 unfettered years to turn the program around. Also put me in the camp of those that see a lot of issues. Uninspired play, questionable coaching, in-year regression, poor in-game adjustments. The program would not be well served to make any drastic changes now, though. We'd be in the same position of not being able to get a big name and taking an educated guess on an up-and-coming assistant.

Lexington has a population of roughly 308,000 people. To be able to say that Lexington as a whole is sick of MS and/or have completely given up on him, you would have to know AT LEAST 154,000 people with that opinion. I do not know you, but I'm going to call BS on your statement....

I totally understand your frustration, I really do. In fact, sometimes I find myself right there with you. However, you've got to look at the bigger picture. I k ow it's hard for a lot of us old time fans because we've waited and waited and then said to wait until next year for years. However, this time just seems different. The administration is putting money into the program. We've made awesome stadium upgrades and plan on continuing that in the near future. We're paying to keep our staff together and recruiting at an unprecedented pace.
When I get angry and want to give up like you, I just stop and realize that it takes time, just like it always does. However, this SEEMS to be a totally different situation than what we've been watching and waiting for all those years ago. Please just be patient
