What does everyone think of him? It just seems like he is a great coach for getting to the final 4, but once he gets there his teams never seem a real threat (2000 the exception) and in fact have gotten smoked a couple times.

He normally doesn't have the horses to run at that level. He does a heck of a job getting them that far and then they run into a team with much superior talent. He lands a big recruit occasionally but most the rest are role players that he develops. Every now and then a team wins it all like that but this day and age you need to horses.

Great coach but needs to recruit better. Got whipped with superior talent and that has been his problem for a few years.

You certainly have to give him credit for reaching seven Final Fours. That said, his overall record in those seven trips is 3-6. Two of those wins came in 2000.

Seems like getting to the final 4 once every 4-5 years is the goal. He gets a group of blue collar guys that peak just at the right time, but can't take the next step.

Seth Greenburg and Fran Friscillia said this week in a one game scenario on the line they'd take Izzo over K. ( I assume they aren't counting the head to head aspect of a one game scenario.)

I think Izzo's team last year could have won the national title if it had gotten to the Final Four. They ended up choking against UConn in the Elite Eight, though.
