Good question. It's a little difficult to compare because I saw both play with their high school teams. Roper's St. Mary's team is loaded, and he was the No. 2 guy last year. Akins had to carry his Farmington team. But from what I saw, Akins is a more rounded three-level scorer at this point, a more polished floor game offensively. Meanwhile, Roper seems like the slightly better athlete, better finisher at the rim, a little higher energy--his defense can be pretty spicy. He can shoot from distance but I'm not convinced (yet) he has a great shot.
