Woo hoo. Great class being assembled by Scheyer. Keep in mind that coach K is still around, so the real recruiting test may come in a year or two. Still, a spectacular start. Kid can shoot. We have our PF, our SF, and our Sg. Let's get 5.

He looks like that Andrew Garfield guy who played Spider Man. I imagine he will be a hit with opposing crowds lol.

Flip gives us options at PF and Center position, as he can play either. If we land Mitchell but not Lively then you put Flip at Center with Mitchell and Whitehead at the two forward positions. Adding Schutt is massive for this class. We needed a pure shooter desperately and Schutt should fit in perfectly.

One thing to follow the remainder of the year is what do we do regarding PG recruiting especially if Roach plays really well. Do we push Caleb Foster to reclassify into the 2022 class? Think the answer is “yes” if it looks like Roach is going pro. If he plays well but looks to be staying then we use Starling to help Roach and Blakes bridge the gap to the 2023 PG class.

Scheyer has been the main recruiter with Schutts.

Don't forget about Blakes. I really believe this kid is going to surprise some people.

Welcome young man and I do think it’s a combination of Scheyer, Smith and Carawell that is really helping with the recruits . Scheyer and Smith bring that young flare that can really relate to younger kids and C Well with the experience.

What an awesome start to the Scheyer era! Getting early commitments is exactly what he needed to do.

Maybe Coach K knew what he was doing when he chose Jon.

Jon is off to a nice start. Another big pickup for next years class.

I understand folks wanting to be cautiously optimistic because I’m the same way, but we also must give credit where credit is due. Jon has been a monster on the recruiting circuit for a long time….this is nothing new.

Exactly. To be honest, I’d have been more surprised if he DIDNT keep it going on the recruiting.

Looks like a more aggressive version of Scheyer to me. Let's hope he has the intangibles Jon had. Scheyer made winning plays regularly.

He looks to be a 4 year guy like Henry Coleman. (Sorry too soon) :)
Nice to see us recruiting a shooter. Keels may or may not be on our roster next year. My guess is we get one of Roach/Keels back. Can Schutt play PG? The videos I've seen are of him shooting.

My guess would be No. the videos I’ve seen of him he doesn’t bring the ball up much . I think he is more of a pure sg.

I feel about Schutt the way I felt about Grayson when I saw his high school highlights. I think this kid can play at a high level and will only get better in the next year. And he's going to have the perfect coach in college.

Add a little more weight and he’ll be fine. His frame does look like Scheyer’s his freshman year.

To be fair on the kid Grayson and Scheyer were both McDonalds All Americans and much higher rated. O' Connell is prob. closer to his average ranking. Hopefully his career will be better.

Agreed. Very excited about the signing but I don’t think he’ll be contributing until his soph/jr year.

I think he can contribute some shooting early off the bench, but he may need a year or two to start.

Still time for rating to go up and become McDonald’s AA. Let’s wait until his senior season is over.
