Has anyone here actually played it? Looks like a fun time and a good way to get killed, too! Somehow, my Facebook algorithm has shown me about a thousand Jai Alai videos in the last few weeks. Maybe we should open a Frontón and some bocce ball courts (or whatever they’re called)

Played it? I've seen it played, and I think I'd just as soon play a version of laser tag with guns and live ammo. Crazy sport that used to be big here in Florida. I think they still have it at a couple of casinos in Broward County.

I saw it in person in Miami one night in the 80s. Lots of older folks in attendance. The whole win place and show gambit is cool. Learned about the Basque culture and how players started in diapers. It's really cool but I believe it's gone to the wayside as generations pass.

Maybe you can't tell in the video but those courts are huge unless they changed them from 30 years ago.

It's a stupid game, but steve-o getting hit by oranges from it permanently cemented my mind. Jai alai is dumb squash. Squash itself is dumb tennis.
