8/16, 1/5 from 3, 2AST:3TO.

Guy is a chucker and not a PG. Still can't hit 3s just like the rest of his career. This is his best game of the year by far and the result for the team is still the same old same old.

IDK how many more games it will take most of you to realize it, he is inconsequential to the outcome of this season (which at this point is bleak). Much higher ceiling in letting JJ loose (and bulking him up) and hope he learns how to play team ball. Or add some NBA PG thru portal or something.

Just my thoughts --

Agree, but my point is Lowe would not get them the ball as much as needed even if these shooters existed. He's a PG in the sense Iverson was a PG -- without Iverson's talent obviously.

Last year with Brea and Jax getting fed by Amari and Butler was honestly underrated. That was a better roster than this one.

Show us Jasper’s line. How about Chandler’s. Those are our options. Would you rather have one of them getting Lowe’s minutes? Be real.

Yes, my OP argument was I would rather have Jasper "learn" and let the chips fall as they may. He has the highest ceiling of any of the options. I don't think there would be much difference in the outcome of the season, TBQH. We're losing these games anyway, and they're not even close.

I agree with pretty much every post on this thread, thanks for everyone's input. Just a bad situation all around. It sucks.

Lowe is instant offense the second he hits the court. Beats every team we have played off the dribble, draws double teams and scores the drive anyway routinely. Good dish to the open man- which is an accomplishment in this dead non motion offense. I have no idea why anyone would not think that Lowe is a big time starting point guard. Also, unlike any other player on this team except for Mo - the guy that Lowe is guarding doesn't outscore him.

To what end? We lose most of the remaining games, miss the tournament, Jasper transfers, and Pope gets fired?

That’s the most likely outcome of your plan. If Jasper doesn't help us win THIS season then it is pointless now. It sucks to say that, but that’s college basketball today.

Jasper Johnson played 6 minutes today and had a turnover and 0000000000 across the board. Come on. He has to do something to earn PT. How about an assist? How about a rebound? How about take a shot?

No, just no. I’m absolutely a “Jasper needs PT and has tremendous upside” but he needs that PT as a backup right now. Lowe needs to be starting. Chandler can’t be PG1. Pope is a dipshit as it relates to Chandler. Someone has to tell him so.

I know I am basketball Bennie. But what offense has Pope installed to this point of the season? Looks like a lot of one/one ball. As for “Lady Lowe”, I agree he is a scoring first, selfish point guard vs an assist focused, selfless leader. Is he most talented offensive player on team, sure. Numbers look good, but we lost by a blow out……again

Well let’s give his minutes to Jasper. Based on today he would have had zero points, zero rebounds, zero assists, and 4 turnovers. That would have been better…

I didn’t say that after Popes first year. I was actually pumped all summer. Bought me and my family tickets for the first time ever. Took a whole weekend trip to watch a 35 point *** beating.

I’m not sorry for being whatever you call it. I don’t feel sorry for Pope at all anymore. It’s not the losses for me once again. It’s the soft pu$$y stuff and I just can’t take it.

Who is advocating for Jasper? Jasper has never seen a shot he hasn’t liked and I can’t think of one assist he has made this year. Worse of two evils from my perspective. Not sure the solution to PG situation nor the offense demise. But Pope gets paid $5M/year to solve for it. And getting bent over and violated weekly on national tv is getting old.

Lowe and Oweh are the only ones who looked like they deserved to be on the court most of the game. We should be playing like 6 guys every minute of the game most nights. Have BG, Chandler, and Jasper give a couple breathers.

Honestly, imo, Oweh is a net negative right now. He can score but he is just a liability on the court. Lowe isn't much better.

In 35 minutes Oweh was a -12 for the game.
In 27 minutes Lowe was a -18 for the game.
In 24 minutes Quaintance was -20 for the game.
In 9 minutes Garrison was a -11 for the game.
Jasper played six minutes and did nothing. Literally.

Aberdeen was on 26 minutes, went 1-7, and was a -5.
Dioubate played 21 minutes, went 2-6, and was a -4
Chandler played 17 minutes, went 1-4, and was a -4
Williams played 16 minutes, went 1-4, and was a -4

The only positive player we had was Moreno. He had 21 minutes, went 2-2 with 4 boards, and was a +6.

So, pick your poison. Do you want defense or offense? I would opt for the second group to play more minutes with Oweh and Lowe coming in to spot minutes.

He's already trying for 2.0 with the majority of this group. Rumor is Pope's been working on resigning a bunch. Look, continuity is great, but not if those players severely underperformed.

Oweh would be a GREAT #2 or #3 player on a team. If we had a star player that could draw double teams, Oweh could be a drive to the basket demon. Unfortunately, he wants to prove to NBA scouts that he can shoot the ball, and he can't

He doesn't seem like a point guard to me either, he reminds me of a mini Oweh that is smaller but faster and can shoot better but not a true pg.

If you watched any Pitt games he has been a shoot first Guard his entire career.

Thank you for this post.

This is going to be my last post on this topic -- most of you don't see it my way, and it's fine. I am not "complaining" about Lowe, rather my point is this team's going nowhere with or without him. He's not the problem, but he's not the solution either -- he's just... inconsequential.

100% correct we want a shortened rotation, and we need to pick a few guys that will get 30+ minutes.

And you have no clue what you are talking about with Lowe. Some people on this site just utterly amaze me. Have to be Gen X on down thru millennials because majority of the baby boomers just aren’t that ignorant. This place is poisonous and full of people that know nothing about basketball.
