Given our poor start, I won’t be surprised if Jalen shuts it down for the year

You actually have a valid point. I am sure there's a contingent of folks (NBA) who would offer such advice. Of course the severity of the injury I do not know at this point.

Been wondering who it would be. Every year makes you feel like there is a reason this keeps happening. Shoes, practice orCIS playing surfaces. Something is definately going on. OFC

There has been a lot of negativity about Nike (although I don't hear a lot about foot injuries from other teams that wear Nike - but maybe it is and we just don't hear it?).

But it's uncanny how many foot injuries there have been with Duke players.

Maybe we just have bad luck with feet?

Maybe we should go back to wearing Converse All-Stars....Chucks. It's been a while but I don't recall the great number of foot and ankle injuries back then. Yes I understand the players are faster, jump higher and more powerful but the shoes should adapt to that. OFC

At this point I would be okay with them wearing whatever keeps them from having foot injuries. Hell, put them in some galoshes 🤣 if it means we never see foot injuries again.

I hope to see this group make strides at developing an identity. At this point it's more important than anything else. Well, other than staying healthy.

The identity should be about defense, rebounding, and playing a slower-paced, lower scoring style. We can't shoot and don't have reliable scorers other than Hurt. Play Coleman and Williams who will help protect the paint and crash the boards. if we have to win games with scores of 54-50 I'd be happy with that. K said they expected this team to be a more up-tempo free-flowing style but that just isn't working and now we are without our only other potentially good scorers.

I gotta say i respectfully disagree with this. We don’t have shooters, so we need to get out in transition. A half court set, with how poor our ball movement has been, to me, seems like a recipe for disaster. Roach, DJ, Brake, even Moore when he snaps out of this thing can all grab it and run. I think we are better off playing to that style than anything else. Hurt can be a good trail spot up 3 shooter.
