Penn State will fire him if he dies not win 9 games. He turned Vandy around in a hurry. He owned us and UT while there. I would call him tonight.

We have to get over the jerk thing. At this point I'd be willing to consider a serial killer if he can put an offense on the field.
I totally agree. I saw up close what he did in Nashville with less talent than we have now. He would win 8-9 games with this roster.
Pouncing on a good coach stupidly fired by another team would be a good strategy.
Actually, although I would like to see a coaching change as soon as possible, I don't want to do so and then have a drawn out coaching search and interview process. Don't fire Stoops until you have your next guy lined up. This year or next year.

There will no shortage of available coaches, happens every year. You could go with a coach who will probably be fired like Franklin, a retread like Fulmer, a former HC who is now a coordinator like Kiffin, or an up and coming young HC like PJ Fleck or Jeff Brohm. I think we can all agree this staff hasn't produced and gets out coached almost every game.
Mitch would hire Penn State's defensive coordinator before he'd hire their head coach.
I think he is a solid coach (did very well at Vandy, taking advantage of a cupcake schedule by SEC standards but still...back to back 9 win seasons is awesome), but the fact he can't get it done at Penn State makes me wonder how he would here. I get he did well at Vandy, but UK is cursed.
