I actually think he has a good chance of being more productive in the NFL than Holliman. That being said, I don't think either one is ready to go pro. Too many holes in each of their games. Neither one of them has played much. I think another season could have allowed them to really refine their skills.

I think Sample is more ready than any underclassmen on the team. But losing him makes me a tad worried about next season. He was our best "overall" defensive back besides Hollimans 14 INT's.

I really don't know if the secondary was really that good. Think about it three NFL players in the secondary plus another decent corner in Gaines. Was it really that good? The Louisville pass defense was ranked 27th in yards allowed against a schedule that had one really good QB and some very average to bad QB's. That wasn't a lock down defensive backfield. It was a good secondary but it wasn't great.

I wish them nothing but the best. I just hope they aren't getting bad advice. The NFL scouts have very little information on both Holliman and Sample. Gaines has been pretty good for 2 years.

Our best safety and best corner on the team sat out this year because of transfer rules.

Grantham is excited about next year. I'm much more concerned with OL.

I think both Sample and Holliman have plenty of upside I guess it just depends on how loaded this draft is. I hope they both do well.

Holliman had to go pro after the season he had, his stock would have only dropped. Sample could have improved his stock with another year, but seems he was ready to try the next level. Good luck to both of them.

Good assessment Knuckle. Holliman may have a better chance based on the bump he got for the All American selection. Sample was probably a better all round DB (although Holliman appeared to be making an effort in the Belk to deliver more hits).
I believe Gaines has no chance, and needs to show vast improvement before the NFL will look at him.
I think about the career A. Smith had here (4 yr. starter) and he hardly got a look.

Not sure I get it with these guys. I guess they are looking in the mirror and see our draft choices of last year, still don't get.
