This guy was a ghost while here but the guy landed a starting spot with Lakers and playing along side Luka and LeBron and hustling plays and defense is his game. Not really thread worthy during busy time but he sure the hell never thought his career would put him beside 2 of the best players in the world and earn a spot beside them.

He always had the game to be a pro, just surprised he’s stuck around so long with no offensive game whatsoever.
Dude was HURT while here. And missed almost all of his 1st year in the league due to a documented surgery. That's why he was a "ghost".
He was always a good player.
HIs defense and rebounding are pretty huge for this Lakers team. Only issue is the same one as a Cat he can't stay healthy.
Tonight is the only game he’s started all season, and that’s only because Hayes is out and LA doesn’t have another serviceable center on its current active roster. JV usually only gets scrub minutes …if he gets in at all.
So, no, he has NOT really “landed a starting spot with the Lakers” …unless you were only referencing this one night.
It really blows my mind that he’s lasted about as long as MKG did and will probably last longer. Charlotte ruined MKG imo messing with his shot. It wasn’t great here but it got worse in the nba. What they turned his mechanics into is one of the dirtiest things I’ve ever seen.
Vanderbilt was a great talent. He had an Oscar like talent for rebounding but could play defense and tell them about it. Really high basketball IQ and great passer.
If he could have been healthy he would have been wicked good with Knox and PJ.
And he had a take no prisoners attitude. He was never 100% here. Even before the season ending injury.
