That'd be a good fit, if Mahlzan is still the coach next year.

Gus may have sealed his fate today, he dismissed Javon Robinson from the team, their best back last year. Don't know what happened but a rumor on an AU board is it was domestic in nature.

But it opens the door for Art Briles, AU will hire him in a heartbeat if they think he can beat Saban. AU looks to be in big trouble this year, took a huge step backwards with their DC hire, lost their best runner and Gus can't develope a passing game. He could be gone early, Clemson game could be a huge embarrassment for AU, and losing this RB pretty much seals the deal for the bottom rung in the west, unless they pull some big upsets.

Briles to Auburn would be bonkers (in a good way).

Art Briles should be in jail.

Not arguing that point, but he wasn't, Baylor gave him a settlement rather than face him in court. AU hired Bruce Pearl after he was caught cheating at UT and they are far from a BB school. He may not be interested in leaving the state of Texas, but don't think for a second that the powers that run the AU football program won't make sure he isn't interested.

Not a chance in the world Auburn or ANY big-name college program hires Briles anytime soon. ZERO CHANCE.

Art Briles shouldn't be able to coach ever again.

His program and silenced rape victims and threatened them if they said anything about it.

Are you seriously comparing Bruce Pearl, who got caught bringing a recruit to a BBQ to Art Briles who let rapes go on and threatened victims if they spoke out about it...

Are you serious?

No, but he was fired for NCAA violations from UT and AU hired him because he is a good coach. Briles was fired by Baylor, he sued Baylor and Baylor settled a wrongful termination suit without going to court. Briles hasn't been charged by the courts, yet anyway, Baylor has received no sanctions from the NCAA, yet. Butch Jones is still at UT and unless they fall flat this year he isn't going to be fired, UT settled with the victims out of court. As far as I know, Briles has done no worse than Jones, or James Franklin for that matter and neither were fired, Franklin even got a job at another program.

Programs are accused of winning at all cost, AU is one of those programs, They paid Cam's dad 200k, Cam was unaware and it was good, they were withing 2 semesters of losing their accrediation because of classes set up for football players, they have had players graduate who couldn't read at a 5th grade level. So, yeah, without a doubt I believe they will hire Briles if he will take the job. If he is dirty all the better, they won't have him to be trained to be a cheater.

I think Gus is gone after this year. If that were to happen, I think UGA would benefit greatly in the 2017 class in AL. If Gus is gone, you could be looking at a monster LB class with Ignont and Britt in addition to McBride, who is all Dawg, IMO.

Maybe, we recruited both the AL kids and are still recruiting Britt very hard. But if Gus is gone, and honestly I don't see how he survives, right now they are underdogs in 6 games, just dismissed their best offensive player and made a downgrade in DC hires. I would still surprised some if we got either of the AL kids. I do agree on McBride, wish he had made it to some camps over the summer, but you take a 230# LB who can run like he can.

Oh Cam knew. In fact he told the coaches at Miss St that he would be signing with Auburn because they were offering more money.

Didn't do a very effective job of silencing them and threatening them is a police matter and had not heard about it before now.

Guy's not very good at that stuff and I wonder why he's not in jail by now.

don't see any way stidham enrolls at Auburn or ANY school this month. he will go to Juco to keep his options open & then chose a place at the end of the year when he has certainty on
(1)the head coach & the offensive system, and
(2)what kind of qbs on the roster will he be competing with

dude is going to be the most highly sought after 'free agent' in college football, he ain't ruining that by picking an uncertain situation right now, he will play the string out until December/January.

I think that's probably true but if he is headed JUCO he better get with it, practices start very soon.
