I think it’s a legit chance and probably appropriate
I know CP and @AtownPoke and many many others that post on this forum know the answer to this, but when it’s obvious that someone is the best at a particular weight, HTF do you not get ranked #1? How many asses does one need to curb stomp to prove they are clearly on a different level to warrant the #1 seed? If I can see it with my eyes, surely to hell those that does this shiiit for a living can see it. I watched Vega wrestle his first collegiate match and knew he could be a 4 time National Champ! Now I didn’t know the cat for Ohio St existed, but I’m still waiting for someone, ANYONE to take his *** to the mat for a takedown! I don’t know if Dee went on the attack from the start of a match, like Jax does, if he could win a Natty this year, but I damn sure know that Jax and Vega damn sure can! Maybe the guys that have been following OSU Wrestling for decades (I started paying attention during the John Smith, Kenny Monday, Mike Sheets era), but I’ve NEVER seen anyone in an Orange & Black singlet wrestle like Jax Forrest, especially right out the gate! So yeah, if j believe that, then hell yeah I believe he’s gonna go through these dudes like shiiit through a goose! Also, I feel like he will end up being one of the Top 5 to ever wrestle here…. That’s saying something in case anyone was wondering!

Blaze losing to Davino definitely opens the door for Jax. Still, wouldn’t be surprised to see Jax seeded second or even third behind the Big Ten guys.

Man, crazy stuff happens and the pundits, coaches and the NCAA guys will be lobbying for the interests of the sport and exposure.

The coaches portion of the formula is scary to me, but I have a conspiracy mindset at times.

*for example, I got into with cops Friday for causing issues with our staffs family because somebody on the floor made a complaint. We are the hunted! Everybody that’s not Penn State wants what we’ve got going and Penn State is starting to sweat a little bit.

But, in the old school thought of the sport, and specifically the staff…toe the line against any SOB that wants some. Hell, seed Jax 33 and it won’t bother them a bit.

FWIW, took a look at the Iowa wrestling board this morning and of the 4 or 5 people who expressed an opinion, all of them thought Jax should be the 1 seed

really didn’t want to see Blaze before the finals but it looks like Jax will get the 2 seed and see Blaze in the Semis now. Oh well, gonna have to beat him at some point

I realize there are a lot of factors used for the seedlngs and we all put more importance on the factors that support what we want, but I'm having a hard time getting past the tech fall and near tech fall against Ayala and Larkin compared to the very low scoring, tight matches among Ayala, Blaze and Davino

Well, the only place that matters is RPI, I think. I’ll have to find that formula.

With Jax not quite getting his 15, RPI won’t come into play.

*hopefully some of the coaches think like you though.

His RPI wont come into play? Or did you mean to say will?

RPI is only 10% of formula, right? And We have seen before that even without RPI, some wrestlers got high rankings.

Didn't someone post earlier that there are 6 or 7 factors and the RPI is about 10% of the total and because Jax doesn't have 15 matches his RPI score will be zero?

I would be shocked if Jax gets the 1. I think it goes Davino, Jax/Blaze, and Seidel gets the 4.

Nomad on X added up the points for what goes into the seeds which includes H2H, QW, Rank, Conference, C.O., win% and RPI. Davino has 62.5 points and Jax has 37.5.

My pick is we see a Jax /Seidel final and Im here for it.

I'm saying it won't and the collateral damage there is that he won't have his dominance factor come into play. If I am not mistaken, RPI does take into account bonus factor?

I don’t know about any conspiracies being hatched in the BOK and this may not even be the incident that you are talking from Friday but this is what saw from the top of the row between 119 and 120 (south side).

We were in the top-right (SE), first seats in the section and the usher was standing next to us the whole evening. I saw many kids running/jumping up and down the stairs quite a few times, sometimes standing in the isle at the bottom and saw the usher talk to them a few times. I never heard what she was saying, I was watching wrestling.

Finally, there was a member of security, a sheriff and a policeman walking to the bottom of the isle which many people noted with surprise. They talked to the adults for a little while and maybe to the kids, then left. Several minutes later a few adults and quite a few kids came up the stairs together. I didn’t notice if they came back or not, I was watching wrestling.

I did ask the usher about it and she said she just couldn’t get the kids under control, it was a safety issue and didn’t want to see any children getting hurt. She wasn’t mad at the kids, she just wanted the parents to be a little more in control.

Not sure if that was it or not?

There wasn't a female usher in the group of authority that I am referring to, also, the event staff that was present told me that "somebody down there" has complained.

So, who knows? I know kids were down there trying to get autographs in droves as well as the army of family that was in the area...so lots of kids!

Dominance is not part of RPI. It's a strength of schedule component. The equation is 25% your winning % 50% your opponents winning % and 25% your opponents opponents winning %.

Okay, so bonus doesn’t really matter at all?

I'm not smart enough to know the formula but I think it should be Davino at 1. Reward the kid for stepping on the mat as much as he did this year.
