After watching the games this year, I think it really stood out tonight. He doesn't play hard and give a full effort. Cain wore him out on effort. I think Robinson is the missing link to a better than expected season. Kentucky needs him to play as hard as Butler does to be successful this season, and make a long run in the tournament.

Or get Kerr back as it seems to energize guys and we can sit Jaxson more. This team wont peak until March. I’m liking what i see as Garrison is going to be a load.
Getting up only 5 attempts and ALL of them from the 3 pt line just confirms your very point. He doesn't like to work for his shots. Add to that he only has 2 rebounds and 1 assist in his 27 minutes of playing time and you get what we saw tonight and all the other losses.
It wouldn't bother me that bad but he was supposed to be "The Man" on this team. He has had some good games, but NO consistency. And now opponents know that he doesn't like the physicality, so that's all he'll see form now on.
Oweh and Brea going 5-25 on all of their attempts just magnified the need for Jaxon to give us more, but he couldn't.
Reality is setting in that if our other starters and Brea aren't making shots, we are doomed because Robinson can't pull us out alone.

We have a new coach who took over a program with ZERO returning players and had to find an entire roster in just one summer off season. Months later we’re a top 10 ranked team with three wins over other top 10 ranked teams.
We already are having “a better than expected season” … even with tonight’s loss and Robinson’s play factored in. If you don’t see it that way then perhaps you should re-adjust your expectations.

I somewhat agree...but having a new coach and zero returning players doesn't excuse the fact that you aren't giving 100% effort. I don't see the effort against quality competition! He shines during less competition! I still say, if Kentucky wants to make a run in the tournament, Pope needs to figure out a way to make him play with a 100 % effort! Maybe that is sitting him on the bench? Not sure? As of now, I'm not seeing that!
Anyone else notice he's usually top 3 in mins and like 6-7 in rebs. He had 2 tonight in 27 mins, Butler had double that. He was 7th overall tonight. Hell Perry has 1 less in only 6 mins.
Perry has outplayed Robinson for the last two games now.
Honestly he just isn't very good. Can't get around any high level 1,2, or 3.
Honestly I wouldn’t even say he has lots of talents. What does he do above average?

It isnt lack of effort but its definitely lack of toughness. He hates physical play. Hates it. When guys get physical he shuts down and shys away.
The sec is full of dawgs. When they know someone doesn't want smoke, they just feed off it.
If jax doesn't fix this personality issue, i don't know how we can play him vs many sec teams.

……the SEC may be too big a stage for him, he came off the bench for byu last year and I’d start brea from now over him. This isn’t the mtn west conference, big boys play here and nonchalant moping around doesn’t get it done at UK.

I don’t think Oweh and Brea will be 5-25 (20%) many nights, if at all, for the rest of the year. They’re too good. Butler, Robinson, and Carr ‘can’ produce as well. Kerr will be back soon and he won’t back down to SEC competition. We still have warts but I’ll take this team over a Triple C coached team any day and this is only year one.
Not to be mean to he guy as he seems like a genuinely good dude, but Robinson simply doesn’t look capable of being a top guy in the SEC. He’s mediocre, at best, athletically. He’s a sub-par shooter. And right now he looks to be completely in his own head. I think coming off the bench may do wonders for the guy.

I noticed same thing last night. Body language did not look good. Kind of moping around, which also was how he was playing. Coukd be his personality but doesn’t look good when he is not playing well.
For goodness sake, he has been playing college basketball for 5 years. He has obviously refused to get in the weight room and work on his body or eat properly. He is not serious about his career. We can’t have those types going forward.

But Pope is going to keep ramming those two guys down BBNs throat, in the same way Cal did with Wagner and Edwards last yr. The motivations may be different, but the result is the same, namely guys getting more minutes then they deserve, due to them solely being the coach's "guys." Don't expect anything to change this yr regarding playing time for Jaxson or Amari. Let's just hope they both improve.

Some guys are practice players and some are game players, might was well give Noah a shot I mean he can’t play worse than what we saw last night. A few mins her and there can be found, & maybe not every game but chandler has given us nothing this whole season then Robinson was on mars last night. You can’t tell me Noah couldn’t guard Cain last night, that’s the perfect guy for him to guard.
Pope has done amazing. That being said, it is never too much to ask for the guys to play hard. There is no excuse for a lack of effort ever. I for one will always expect full effort regardless of talent or circumstances.
I wish he would drive it more. There’s times he seems to have a step on his man, but instead of taking it to the hoop he pulls back and does a floater. Like others said, it’s probably due to him avoiding contact, but he seems like a guy who could make a living at the line if he would put his head down and drive it.
He and williams are pouty when things don't go well. Even after the Florida game when JR stayed after to get up more shots. I think that is commendable and admirable. But then I saw the video of pope giving him that pep talk and putting his arm around him. Just reading the body language he seemed to be down on himself even after a huge win in which he didn't really play that bad. Granted I didn't hear their conversation. But I thought it was a little concerning how down he looked in that moment. He should have been juiced up. Overall I just don't like what I'm seeing from him and I hope he finds his way.
Trent has defensive problems too, but when you are getting you skull crushed in because your starter is too weak, you go with a more physical guy. You can say a lot of things about Trent, one of those is not that he plays weak. In all of the games he has played in, the things he does well are rebound and shoot. This was one of those games he may have been able to do something others were not. If nothing else, he could have come in and pushed a few guys around a little. Who know’s, if he gets in a little altercation, maybe he inspires the rest of the team. We will never know now.

my god our fans our worst than the actual loss . Anybody that's not a troll should take this season in stride and enjoy the successes and not dwell on the negatives so much . If you're going to explode evrytime we take a loss then stop watching .Haven't given up on him yet but can certainly see why some have or are about to.
He knew what he was getting into when he took the job. If we lost because we didn’t shoot well, I can live with that, but we are seeing a serious trend that has not gotten better based on fight/desire/pride/leadership. This team is playing weak in a league where those type of teams get chewed up and spit out. We need to instill some fight into these guys. If they have to have a 2 hour session of each and every one of them being beat up by the assistants with training dummies as they are fighting for rebounds. Then spend another 2 hour session making them run through picks. If that isn’t enough, make them fight through double teams for 20 minutes at a time. Toughness is a trainable attribute. You have to weed out the softness. If that means guys like Robinson ride the bench, so be it. I would rather lose instilling a tough mentality than lose with a guy who brings it against weak opponents, but wilts in real competition.Point on

He was the 6th man at BYU, right? It might work to slide him back into that position. Some guys are better at seeing the flow of the game first and then coming in.
We need Jaxon and Koby to hit the boards. Gang rebound. Both are 6 7 wings. Get in there! Toughen up.
Also for us to win they need to combine for a minimum 30 pts with 4 3s. Be leaders. Step up.

The shot he made (3 at top of key), he didn't have time to think, he just knew the shot clock was about to go off so he had to get rid of it. So he may just be in his own head.

Robinson is the most obvious. Maybe, we the fans, were expecting too much from him. Maybe he was over hyped, but he played well against Big 12 competition last year & won 6th man of the year. He gives little to no effort most of the time. He has the skills, but doesn't use them. He should be shooting 4 or 5 free throws per game, but instead of driving and looking for the foul, he shoots 3 pointers and fade away jumpers. Free throws are the easiest way to put points on the board & increase your average. Williams has the body and size to be a huge factor every game, yet he again would rather shoot ugly hook shots instead of dunking, rebounding and blocking shots. Again, just lack of effort, Takes too much energy to jump for a rebound or attempt to block a shot. Just don't understand that type of attitude

Hope I’m wrong but I believe getting meaningful minutes from Kerr is a pipe dream from what I know about basketball related foot injuries.
If you read the article on him a couple of weeks ago, both his mother and his aunt pretty much said they’ve been on him about being “soft “ his whole life .
