he would be one heck of an RTC coach, or could there be more. Think of the drawing power.

We should absolutely offer him the RTC head coach job. It would be perfect for him. He would get to coach and work with those guys on getting better, but it wouldn't be as demanding or time-intensive as being a college coach.

Love Zo and sounds like a Roper is great, but if JB was really trying to come to Stillwater, you absolutely do not turn that down.
JB is a generational talent but that doesn't make him a good coach. He definitely could be a great coach but I'm not sure that we turn the RTC over to him to find out.
Zo is loved by the wrestlers and several wrestlers might leave if Zo left.
I don't know a thing about Roper but I know that Northern Iowa has consistently put wrestlers on the mat with great mat awareness and high wrestling IQ. Those are two areas that OSU needs to improve on for future growth of our program.

Agree to disagree. I think every wrestling program in the country would turn their RTC over to JB in a heartbeat. His brand, reputation, and relationships are unmatched.

Just because JB is JB doesn't mean he's a better coach than Roper. I think it's a no brainer that you do back flips and you absolutely bring a guy like JB on if you're ever given the opportunity but Roper is a genius and absolute elite coach.

I'm not talking about changing anything at all with Roper or Zo.

We don't have an RTC HC currently, not by title. Roper is "Executive Director and Senior Level RTC Coach" and Zo is "Developmental Coach". No one needs to leave or be pushed aside in order to bring JB in, and I wouldn't dream of doing that. Lee and Zo are both incredible

I don’t get how bringing in JB would mean Zo leaving.

I think if/when JB gets into coaching it’s either gonna be at an RTC/college on the east coast where he’s got really deep roots, or it’ll be if T&T ever leave Iowa and they give JB more money than anyone could refuse. No insider knowledge obviously, but he’d make a lot of sense for Rutgers or UPenn or somewhere like that

If he wants to be in the Hall of Fame, he should live close to it...

I'd say he has a decent shot. But what's the point if he can't go check himself out a few times a day?
Well since Chad isn't paying NIL $😂😂 and wants to build the RTC paying JB 1 million a year would be like us spending a $1

He’s an all-timer. How often do recruits and senior level athletes reference JB, when doing interviews. Sounded like he wanted to be involved, but he wanted to choose how much he would be involved. I know the pockets would be emptied to get him here. I thought Zo was running the Cowboy wrestling club anyway

JB ain't coming to OSU. And that wasn't the point of what he was saying. DT did a great job of changing his mind on coaching in college.

It's been a dream of his to run an RTC that is separate from any college. Unless he has some big azz donor - that ain't ever happening. And i think he realizes that.

But he was also very clear that he wants to be at a place that has the $$$$ to make his life more simple than the typical college program can. That leaves very few schools that can do that. It would have to be an tOSU, Iowa, etc.

There is Paycom, a pretty big donor. His focus is now turning to his son. Stillwater can plug a kid in at 5 yo all the way to 35Yo. After listening to the podcast, him going to OSU makes a Lot of sense. I bet he comes. He’ll start out coaching youth and move his way up the line with his son (non inside info, just a hunch). He mentioned McKenna a few times (it sounded like they were tight). He really respects DT and Smith. OSU is a very “unique situation” that fits him and his family. He’s coming, the swammy has spoken.🔮

Don’t be so sure. There are only a few programs in the country that can and we are one of them. Plus, he has been hanging out in Stillwater and talking about the future. I have convinced myself more now than I was the previous post. If I post again, I’ll probably bet the farm on it

Yeah, casually talk about something around your Alexa and notice the adds that pop up on your social media. Let’s not talk about this stuff too much… they’re listening.

It’s BAD. I’ll never forget getting into an argument with my wife - then Facebook showing me ads for “conflict resolution in marriage” ads.

We had a good laugh about it, but sheeeesh. Sobering.
