Jimmy Dykes Dementia?

I really don’t like him, but that’s just me. I’ve disliked him since 2014, when he kept calling James Young the worst passer in the SEC. I don’t think I’ve ever heard that kind of derogatory assessment from any other announcer toward any other player. I found it classless.

Was thinking the same thing last night. Especially with 8 minutes to go when he kept on and on about the depth of the women’s game this year.

Maybe that’s an ESPN thing, and he’s doing his job. But do they talk about Kentucky men when two top ten women’s teams are locked in a tight battle? I don’t know. I rarely watch.

That’s just when I started hating him. I haven’t kept a list, but he’s done plenty to solidify my opinion since then. I’m glad you like him though.

It's because outside of Jack Givens, everyone in the media hates UK or is pro-Tubby/Cal*. Also, all officials hate UK.

That mindset all comes with the territory of being a fan of a longstanding winning tradition.

Dykes is basically a UK fan. His personal trait as an announcer is to pump up the team that’s performing well but most are that way. But he likes UK a lot and always has. I generally like when he does our games.

I loved how Garrison got a T for saying, “And 1,” and Dykes complimented the refs for “cleaning up nonsense.”

Might have been a top 3 weakest T I’ve ever seen. AD hanging on the rim, and Humphries at ATM come to mind.
