I think NIL is going to kill attendance overall. People want to follow players for their school, and you can't do that when the players are just mercenaries. And then the NBA is going to start blaming the college game for not giving guys a place to develop. The NBA really needs to take this off our hands. Give the players two choices:
Go to college for 4 to 5 years without pay.
Enter some sort of league where you can develop and potentially make money while developing.
Get drafted out of high school.
That way we who are into "college athletics" can root for our teams, the players will play for the name on the front of the jersey, and senior night will be something more than just a spectacle.
College athletics is not going to be able to survive this NIL nonsense.
