JoJo is a hard-nosed competitor and does good things on the field, but you simply can't be serious ......

More Wildcat yes...RBs playing QB for real, absolutely not.

SJ is doing as well as any QB we've had in terms of team chemistry, offense moving the ball and scoring, record, etc...

it's not pretty, but it's working. SJ is still very raw, inexperienced, and figuring out a new offense on the fly in the SEC.

Once the passing game starts to click for SJ and he gains a little bit more confidence, things will get going.

Not particularly fond of the idea, but if we are going to use the Wildcat in other than red zone, we have to (at least occasionally) hand off on the sweep. Maybe Johnson could be the sweep guy with the threat of a pass?

I would like to see Matt Elam at QB1. Who could bring him down? You wouldn't have to worry about him standin straight up. I believe I have stumbled onto something. Oh does he have an arm?

Jojo can't throw so it's a pure running formation when he's in it but that doesn't mean it can't be effective. At least part time anyway. Johnson still needs to be the main QB but they can expand Jojo's role in the wildcat. If they run it more they need to do more than Jojo dives out of it. He has to give to the jet sweep some and run off of zone reads to the half back.

I had observed that on another thread, but hadn't thought about Johnson on the Sweep running an RPO - that's an interesting idea.

It's difficult to imagine Jojo bouncing it outside when one of his outside blockers is the QB.

So if you are going to run it outside, there's only one way to go (the opposite side) and that doesn't even account for the weakness on our line being the tackles. He'd get blown up running outside if there was only one way he could go.

So.....we play to our strength, and punch it straight up the gut.

Jojo was a running back that some thought could be a QB but that wasn't his thing Get back JoJo,get back to where you once belonged .....I know this is awful but it makes more sense than the OP

It's obvious to me that you have been an elite QB coach or HC or OC at the college level to have picked up this extremely subtle nuance of Jojo's QB prowess with a very limited universe of plays of Jojo playing this position. I'm wondering, do you have defensive coordinator experience also. We may have an opening for you at the end of the season.

IIRC in a 2014 game against La-Monroe, they ran a play for JoJo to pass out of the Wildcat. I believe he threw an interception, and after that game he kinda went into his shell for the rest of the season.

Sorry OP, just not a good idea.

I saw JoJo pass once. It was setup nicely. I think I was mid beer chug when I saw it.. Dude me was wide OPEN! Nearest defender was 10 yards behind the receiver. Apparently JoJo saw a defender more wide open.

Hah..

That pass was atrocious though. Made me wonder why we even attempted to try it.

Yeah, no. I would like to see him give it to the man in motion at least once in my lifetime, though.

His pass against Louisiana Monroe was one of the worst throws I've ever seen in a UK game. Half the dudes in the parking lot tailgating before the game could throw better than that.

JO JO WITH SNELL AND BOOM on either side still sounds good to me. I saw some pretty bad passes Sat. also hope it was just and injured wrist and would love to see Stephen have a grreat year
