For whatever reason he decided to sign a free agent contract with Kansas City. It's a very risky move and I don't agree with it at all but good luck to him.

Holy hell, that is crazy... and an extremely poor decision IMO. I think if you talk to most people who go through the minor league system they will tell you that the guys who are paid more are given many more chances and a lot more preferential treatment than guys that the teams have not invested as much on. Signing a free agent contract puts you very very far behind the 8 ball in my opinion. While it is nice to get there and get paid a little bit, if he plays halfway decent this year then he could have really solidified his future rather than going forward on extremely unsteady ground.

Good Lord, we never got anything from him at all. This seems rather dumb, he may make it, but it seems rather risky, he could have helped UK and himself by playing in 2017.

I really doesn't make any sense. It kind of makes me wonder what his through process was on this. Did he really not like the new coaching staff that much or what? I mean, not only does he has to make the Royals minor league team as a rookie free agent, but then he has to understand that every time he is up for promotion they will likely favor someone who was drafted and who they paid more money for over promoting him. He will have to play much better than those around him and at the same position just to get promoted, and that's a tall order.
