Pel is very professional and gave Cal a warmhearted pat on the back.

I'm almost certain he said "win it" as he embraced Cal.

I don't really know, obviously, but perhaps...I'm glad I went here, I had a great time, and it helped me get a great job in basketball which I love, making very very good money, and my family and I live in Florida...get to play golf all year round, I don't have very much stress, and I got a Smokin wife.
And possibly when billy goes, I might get a good shot at the job at UF.
Go Cats.

I really hate that John was not a part of UK's coaching staff after he put up his jersey for the last time and began coaching.

But his friendship goes way back with Billy Donovan and there never was a spot for him in Lexington. He is a first class man and Kentuckian, UK Blue to the bone. I wish him and his family the best. I guess he will follow Billy Donovan where that road leads.

not to rag on Pel because those guys did everything but win that game, but "make sure you don't foul" has never meant "back off a foot away with your hands up & make no effort to knock the ball away or get your hands up."

Pel, I think, has found his level if he wants to coach at the highest level of D-1, that being an assistant. I think he might be a good head coach at a lower level, OVC, etc., but nothing in his tenure at Arkansas would suggest he gets an opportunity at a Florida or similar, in my opinion.

Every time Pel watches that highlight he has to cringe...just stand there with arms up might have worked. He walks away and watches overhead scoreboard and let's Lattener have free look.

Every Batman needs his Robin. Pel has found his niche. He can ride Billy D's coattails off into the sunset and Donovan is not going anywhere.
It may suck that nobody cares when you win but the flip side is nobody cares when you lose either.

Somebody was supposed to be in front of CL... making a sandwich out of him, IMO. I've always thought it was supposed to be Pel. I've never heard the "who" or "why" of it all. You don't take a guy off the inbounds man, just to have him stand around and watch things like a ticket-buyer.

Still... loved those guys.
