I will join the congrats. John is a class guy who caught a lot of foolish crap, here and elsewhere, when a young, thin line struggled.

He deserves credit for our now seeing UK running backs going through holes big enough to drive a Mac truck through.

And for those that might have forgotten the greatest Schlarman (coaching) story: on a recruiting trip to the deep south, when a freak snow storm hit, he and other UK coaches abandoned their car, hiked to the school, and spent the night at the high school with many of the students, including a student nicknamed "Bunchy." This particular student is a very promising young o-lineman that likely would be at another school in the deep south, were it not for Coach Schlarman's persistence.

I remember that snow storm well. I left Birmingham just in time to get back to Huntsville before the roads became impassable.

And had to self-report an NCAA recruiting violation for the "visit" lasting over two days (this is why Harbaugh always shows up after midnight for his "Netflix and chill" pajama parties) and requested a waiver b/c of being snowed in.

Other coach was Neal Brown.

Nice to read a thread and no one being negative, wanting to fire the coach who takes them to their first bowl in 6 years

The OL has really come together. I think Gran should get most of that credit, because this same group and OL coach was mediocre at best last year.

Still, he's part of the turnaround. I'm glad it's working out

They are a year older and a year more experienced.

I think Coach John and esp Cole Mosier deserve compliments on a very good year. Cole has went from walk on to being a pretty good SEC LT imo. And has another year to play!
