Doubt it would be a geographical fit but man this guy sounds like he could be the next superstar coach. Probably would go to Kentucky if they move off of Stoops.

Both he and Golesh from USF are the next potential superstar Cignetti type head coaches. Does PSU roll the dice on one of those two or a coordinator like Stein and Brady, or do we go for the safe choice of an established head coach?
Along with Golesh they're the two obvious choices IMO
I don't care about the geography of it all.
I just listened to the XM college football guys interview Golesh. Seems like a great, well rounded young coach. Very interesting background. I liked him based on the interview and he has USF playing well. They beat Boise State and Florida this year.
Lists and names are everywhere. Seems every podcaster connected to PS and national podcasters not connected have lists filled with the suspects that most have mentioned, and a lot of people find Sumrall intriguing. I'm not so sure.
Not saying Sumrall won't get a shot, but I view him as being down the list. I think if we get to a Sumrall Kraft will have missed out on some big offers. I wish Sumrall had a few more years under his belt to be able to have a better sense about him.
IMO which doesn't count for anything Kraft has to open the cash box and get a proven winner and recruiter who has beaten at least a few of the best. I sincerely hope this doesn't end up a middling or lower-level hire.
After listening to Kraft, he has really put himself out there and didn't leave any room for not getting a great HC. One thing I think Kraft has done with what he had to say is he has either set himself up for going down in history as PS's greatest AD ever or a guy who will be pushed off a cliff. I don't see much if any room for error for Kraft making the hire.
Matt Rhule seems to be the conventional wisdom due to his connections and friendship with Kraft. Not saying it won't be Rhule (please Lord no) but I do say I think that will be a big mistake as he has a worse record than Franklin. He's not the best X's and O's guy, he's not a great recruiter and IMO his only plus is he's a hometown PS guy. Personally, I wouldn't be at all excited about Sumrall but he I think would be better than Rhule.
Can't wait for more info as this thing plays out because Kraft will either be hero or goat. I hope for the program's sake Kraft ends up the hero.
