Personally I grew up on so much Waylon, I could probably recite, without his baritone voice, every song he ever did. Everybody has their opinions on classic country.

Dad was such a fan of Waylon that me and my brother used to call Sunday mornings, gravy biscuits and Waylon. Mom would cook breakfast and dad would put Waylon on. Grew up with all the classics, Waylon has always stood out.

Huge fan of all three but I will take Waylon, Merle, then George. Waylon because of the fact he told Nashville to kiss his backside and with Willie and Tompall Glaser, they started the outlaw movement turning their backs on the corporate Nashville BS. His song,"Are you sure Hank done it this away", is a classic and was recently covered by the Mavericks, where they added horns to it and then blended in "Feelin Alright: into the song. I had a black lab named Waylon. His autobiography is a good read.

George Jones personifies the stories in country music. The outlaw era had a bunch of people that understood 'Mericans

Like trying to pick my favorite Zeppelin song, can't do it.

Depending on mood it could be either, plus I will add willie and conway....

I could create a hell of a playlist with those five.

Waylon...Merle a very close second. “Bartender Blues” by Jones sums up why I change the channel anytime he comes on the radio...that warbling falsetto of his drives me to drink. Lots of people love him, but his stuff gets all over my nerves

All three great but George is the ultimate country music singer. His voice, his twangy instrumentation, sad songs are the best.

Waylon IMO had as good a voice as any male singer I've ever heard. Could sing the phone book and sound good. Merle comes in second and George way back.
