Former Iowa guard- Josh Dix seems like an ideal replacement for Brea. He could be a great complimentary piece for next yrs roster.

He’s a good player well suited to fill the Brea role.
But I’m not sure I wanna endure all the lame Dick jokes we’ll be seeing on this board next year if he’s here.

The more I watch him, the more I am on board with him being a guy we go after.

Key word "complimentary". I just don't see him or others come to UK to be a complimentary piece!
I'm slowly coming to the fact that Pope thinks he has the bulk of his bachcourt. And I'm not sure he isn't right! Now he is looking to fill out what he needs!

PF. Portal/ portal?/ Garrison
C. Garrison/Moreno/portal,PF
OO/JJ will be your main threat from guard. And might be better then anybody we put out there this year!
Chandler/Lewis will be strong solid backups.
Williams adds defense length and shooting --41% from 3!
Frontcourt is still to be determined.
I would LOVE if PF was Alvaro/Garrison and we got a great defensive center to pair with Moreno
I don't see JJ starting at point at all unless Lewis and whomever we bring in as a PG from the portal are both injured.
I am not talking about who we bring in. Just how it is now. The 9 we have. IT would be JJ or CC at PG with Lewis as the back up. Maybe partway through the year Lewis starts.

It sounds like his goal was to stay close to home. That was put out as soon as he hit the portal. I like to think we reached out and got told no thanks.
As good of a pg as Braden Smith is and Dix is talented as well just don’t see either being able to stay in front of any guard in the SEC. The system we run we will always be capable offensively but coming from BYU to UK defense becomes way more important. Hopefully from year 1-3 we take more athletic players each year capable of good defense. We had some decent ones, some turnstiles, and Butler this year.
This. Other than apparently being able to stay healthy, how is Dix any different from CJ Frederick? I think Frederick averaged similar numbers at Iowa, and led the Big Ten in 3p%. But poor guy couldn’t guard a mailbox. No thank you.
