Really don’t need parents of players chiming in. They care only about their kid, and nothing about our program. Our fans live and die UK basketball year after year, not 5 month’s worried about 1 player.
Agree. I'm as disappointed as anyone, but parents really need to learn to keep their mouth shut publicly. Looks bad on them, hurts their kid, and hurts the team.

None of the players care about the program either. They are n it for money. Hell how many of us work because we love our employer? Not many I'd say.

Mr. Q I respect your right to voice your opinion but your son is making millions of dollars as a college student. He is not paying a single penny for his education. He seems to be a wonderful young man. He has gotten much more from UK than he has given or will give. In this day and age where JQ level players are being paid more than a lot of hard working people who buy tickets to watch them play, let me say just relax and enjoy the ride.

He’s a lottery pick, it doesn't matter for him, or his family, they will come out if this smelling like a rose, no need to pour salt in the wound right now.
What NBA GM is taking him as a Lottery pick? He averaged 9pts a game last year and was dominated by a guy today that averages 1.1 pts a game for Bama and that guy won’t sniff the G League. I just don’t see him being a lottery pick, maybe a 2nd round pick, there might be 10 players in the conference that would be better suited for the lottery. He could improve but he can’t shoot the 3 and when he gets the ball, he doesn’t pass when doubled.

This isn’t anything like working. It’s a ******* game, that these players supposedly love, and played for free for years. Don’t even pretend to compare this to actually working.

LOL, what? JQ is on everyone's draft board as a lottery pick, go look for yourself. Right now, he's projected at #5. Don't shoot the messenger.

This does no good for anyone! Bad look.
I’m sure JQ was told we would use him like we did Williams.
No doubt screen shots have been taken by rival coaches. This will be used against Pope in recruiting and on the transfer portal for years to come.
The problem is this isnt news to anyone. THAT is the problem.

Oats put it out there today. Nobody passes the ball. Like wtf do we work on? I know our bigs aren’t that bad of passers that we can only have like 13 assists from the post. Why has Pope totally abandoned what works for him? I know we don’t shoot well, but that’s because we don’t pass and get good looks either.

JQ not yet a complete player . Slump shouldered teenager as he runs bent over . Doesn’t seem like he knows what to do to be an effective player at high D1, much less NBA.

In all honesty, I hope JQ is better than what he’s shown so far. He looked close to useless against an Alabama team, that’s not exactly known for their inside game.

Although it isn't great, Im not overly concerned about a parent voicing their wants for their kid. Not great, but not unusual.

Im way more concerned that he is exactly right in what he said.

I was worried about him against Alabama. I figured they would pull him out to the arch and drive by him, but they just neutralized him in the paint with length and physicality.

I know JQ didn’t play to his abilities yesterday, but I put that entire debacle on the coaching staff. They didn't put the team in the best position to succeed. We were on our heels for most of the game.

But, I have no idea why the NBA wants JQ that bad. He’s athletic and moves well laterally, but I haven't seen anything that translates to the NBA yet. He’s basically a more athletic Oscar that can't rebound as well, although Oscar struggled badly at Alabama too.

He’s an absolute freak physical human being that is 18 years old. In his first game back he made the St John’s center look like a little kid. That much potential is very attractive for an NBA coach.

I'm sure the NBA will turn him into an inside-out guy in short order. He has a decent shooting stroke, so I can definitely see it happening.

A lot of our fans are just focused on yesterdays game, but that was a total failure all the way around. Our coaches put our players in a terrible situation all game long. JQ's dad should feel frustrated, that was terrible coaching.

Yes, just like you care nothing about the players. Unless they entertain in a way that pleases you. There nerve of telling a father not to comment on his sons team.

Get lost *******. I have news for you, the players don’t give a crap about any of us. They’re getting paid. I don’t give a flying **** about his father. He isn’t even a pimple on our program’s ***. He’ll be gone in 2 months. He needs to keep his mouth shut.

Didn’t look so good against Bellarmine and let the Bucknell transfer make him look silly. Just keeping it real. I truly love the kid but I think he not going to anywhere near full recovery this season

With that being said I just don’t think it helps the team for parents to be using social media to wage their own agenda

Nah, he should say what he wants like everyone else. It’s his kid who is only entertainment to you whether he were here for 1 year or 5.
